  • Chandni Chowk to China .... my first Bollywood project

    Wednesday, Jun 25, 2008 12:04AM / Standard Entry / Members only

I have just finished shooting for two months in Beijing and Thailand for this Bollywood production .... it has been exciting new experience for me.

    Film Overview:
From the hustle-bustle of Chandni Chowk to the hutongs of Beijing, the electric energy of Shanghai and sheer breathtaking Chinese landscapes, Chandni Chowk To China chronicles the lunatic adventures of a hapless simpleton cook from Delhi. As he goes to seek his destiny, he finds himself thrown into a crazy world of megalomaniac villains, femme fatales, crazy inventors, Chinese mysticism and outlandish kung-fu assassins!

Star Cast: Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Mithun Chakraborty, Ranveer Sheorey & Master Gordon Liu
    Producer: Warner Brothers

One of my friend-Diana from London said: Prof Gordon Liu is a very lovely man. Asked me to explain she saw Gordon Liu on CCTV Tian Wei show. Diana tried to email her letter to Gordon, but failed. I hope if there is anybody can give me Gordon's private email or his assistant's.
Diana is a very nice lady, because of suffering from MS dease, she couldnt' wolk and couldnt' use her hands well. It's hard for her to type, but she did.
Hope Gordon could see my message and arrange sometime to talk with Ms Diana.
    Thank you all!

Well, I've done it . Just seen the movie and it's fun, hilarious, wacky and thank God the english subtitles are of good standard and interpretation.  Not much advertising in Perth and luck on my side when I saw it in the papers (I was planning to go to the movies today to relax). Being a bollywood movie and in Hindhi, 80% of the audience were Indians.Yes, I'm talking about Australia.  I don't care. I'm glad I discovered this blog otherwise, would have missed out.  Master G, to go international, you must do more promotions!!!!!! And personally, the director should have given you an extra 3 minutes screentime to demo a short drill in that scene where you had your shirt off!!!  I hope Liu Chia Liang will make that shaolin movie with the same screen time of 2.5 hours.  That's heavy wuxia exposure.
Well done, keep it up. P/s: you poor thing, must be sun=exposed to be filming during those hot months cause you look very tan. And did you have pads on when 'Sidhu' was giving you the 'chops' in the finale??  Go see it guys, I think you will enjoy it.

wow, Liu Laoshi, I just read that the film is said to have been inspired by Akshay Kumar's own life story, in which martial arts plays a major part. Akshay had to undergo full training in Wushu for this movie. That is great as we all love Wushu!
    Best Regards!

That sounds like a cool project: mixing Chinese and Indian elements. Wow, this could be the future of Asian film.
