Asia Expo, Lantau Festival, Armani & Lots of other stuff

Hey guys we've just been over to Causeway Bay after a franticly intense band practice (just in case we might be heading over to Macau this weekend) And met up with 4 other bands including our friends Cho Chuk Mo to meet up and discuss future work with Stage-tube.com We've just organised a trip over to the Asia Expo to record 2 new music videos along with the other bands. All the guys at Stage-tube are awesome. We had a great time hanging out with them and the other bands, Cho Chuk Mo we're playing with some cat with a ball on a stick. It was an evil cat.. After playing with it for ages it tried to attack one of the guys! It's gonna be a real blast to get over to Asia Expo to get two new songs down that are currently unheard of by the public! Expect to hear something totally new from the new songs as we're very rapidly moving into uncharted territory musically. One song I can only describe as Swing Boogey Woogey Cantopop Metal (just kiddin on the canto)  and the other is Progressive Slap Funk Jazz Metal! hahaha! We're really pushing boundaries here and it'll be great to see what the commercial music lovers think to them! hehehe! (these songs are totally for the Tool / Hardcore psychadelic sex funk from heaven lovers.)We've also just confirmed to be playing an outdoor beach festival in Lantau held later this month on the 23rd August and we'll be playing for Armani at Armani Bar, We'll be paying homage to a few of our brit pop heroes by covering a few of the classics ala Gong Wu style! on the 4th September. Both shows should be totally different but nonetheless energetic and crazy!(More news on all three shows TBA)I've just been down to Sham Shui Po to stock up for the months events. Got myself a Freddie Mercury Style Microphone Staff (Always wanted a Mic Staff since I was a kid and now finally I'm gonna give it a whirl at our next show! expect me to take someone's eye out) And even greater a Shure Wireless In Ear System!I'm tired of destroying my voice bad monitors trying to hear myself, and finally after years of umming and arrrring, I'll be giving these babies a whirl on Fridays Rehearsal and I can't wait!Oh I told the guys in the band that if we somehow manage to be picked by Linkin Park this week. I'm going to do the craziest hairstyle they've ever seen. Their response was..."Dude don't you think that might mess up all your work?"My reply"Who gives a shit about work??!!! it's Linkin Park! ARRRGGGGHHH!!!"I really hope I get a chance to use my staff this weekend.  heheheI want to make a small mention to all our fans on facebook who supported us through the competition! There's a whole load of you on there and I believe a huge amount of support came from you guys! Thanks to all our fans who also came over from Myspace and other social networking societys to cast your votes. The time you sacrificed to vote for us I believe made a huge difference.Having the support of you guys has really made us feel proud to be a local alternative group. We've been getting great emails from some of you that really have lifted our spirits. Our recent band practices are full of hope and creativity because we have really started to feel we have people behind us that believe and want to be a part of what we are trying to do. We want to be able to give back to you guys as soon as we can. We have been discussing the idea of somehow creating a huge show in the upcoming months, we want to get a sponsor involved and give free entry and free goodies to all our fans to thank you all for all your support since the beginning of our band's founding less than 2 years ago! With well over an albums worth of NEW material we're also seriously considering trying to find a way to get out of my house and into a pro studio to record a real album! It has been and still is a serious tough uphill struggle to get somewhere good in South Asia's alternative scene. We'll keep pushing forward and one day I hope that what we have tried to accomplish as a group, give back to our local scene and the fans that believed in us and makes our scene stronger..Your support is so important to us, even something as small as one vote, makes us that little bit stronger and gives us the strength to not only reach further for our dreams, but bring them to you guys and share them with our local scene too!;)Gong Wu

let me know if it works out for you with the in-ear system.... i personally doubt it, since it is still all in the hands of the mixer guys, who are the main problem in the first place... nothing wrong with hong kong monitors, as per I know of.... Cla

Dude the in ear system is awesome!! I really love it so far. I can hear with great clarity now in the practice room. You have to remember that our band is FUCKING SUPER LOUD. I'm always fighting against the bands volume and so this has given me the chance to hear my voice for the first time out of a karaoke parlour since I was 16! When you get to our volumes there's a lot of problems with monitors here! feedback is a huge issue especially with how i swing the mic around :) I'm finding I can sing better, i have more control over my pitch and vibrato. and best of all I can push my voice hard without straining it as much I was in the past. It's made a difference and I totally recommend it to metal singers who have had the same problems as me! ;)

cool....lets see after you do your first gig with it.... i am still curious to see the average hk mixing folk coping with feeding your in-ear monitors without totally screwing it up (or screwing your ears up.... ).... =)
