  • TACTICAL UNIT'S SIMON YAM AND VINCENT SZE IN PARIS

    After 10 days spent in Italy for the 10th edition of Far East Film Festival, I went back to Paris and discovered yesterday that Simon Yam 任達華 and Vincent Sze 施祖男 were there. They played for the first time together four years ago in SPL 殺破狼, and will team again this year in PTU's theatrical sequel produced by Johnnie To 杜琪峰 and directed by Lau Wing-cheong 羅永昌. (there are also four other Tactical Unit movies with Simon Yam made before, but for the TV market only. The first one, Tactical Unit - The Code was screened in Udine a few days ago, before the closing ceremony of the festival).

    Simon Yam regrets that he couldn't be in Udine with his Milkyway Image mates, where Johnnie To's The Sparrow 文雀 was also screened. Actually, Simon Yam was in France to do the promotional interviews for The Sparrow (it'll be released in France on June 4th, 2008) and shooting a commercial. Vincent Sze is now in France for a few days because he just got the lead role for his first French movie which will be shot in a few months.

    It's hard to believe that SPL was four years ago!. I'll have to look out for The Sparrow. Simon Yam is one of my favourite thespians. Great actor.

    Simon Yam--what a class act! Cool that Vincent is shooting a movie in France. Is it a French production? Does he speak French?
