ok, i'm still way behind on my blogs, but here's something hot off the presses.  tuesday night we were lucky enough to attend the premiere screening for Golden Scene Pictures' 'This Darling Life' a film by Angie Chen.

Its not an easy film to describe - basically its a documentary about dog lovers in HK,  but it focuses mostly on people who have suffered the loss of a dog recently or those who are committed to rescuing  abandoned or abused dogs.

needless to say,  a rather HEAVY movie...   I have had more than a few dogs in my life,  including the world famous Sherpa (many of you know her), so the film did resonate with me,  there are a lot of people who are doing great work with animals in HK,    so this was the most interesting part of the film for me.    Paul Wong is in it too!

If you're a dog enthusiast or a pet lover, its worth checking out,  but definitely be mentally prepared, its emotionally HEAVY.

I took a few pictures at the premiere press event:

any of you guys want to tell me who these guys are? i'm bad w/ the pop and tv stars. :-P

press was there in full effect!

    one person i recognized:

wow, my first time seeing her in person!  i was too afraid to go up and say hi. :-P

After the screening, we ran into another familiar face:

HKDR had a promotion up for one of their fund raiser efforts.  great stuff!

Coming from a female, i would've been sent to hospital if I was infront of Michelle Reis.  I taolly admire her beauty, lucky guy. Appears, she's still looking 20 years young.

Michelle Reis, am I correct? I can understand why you were nervous, she is a world class beauty.

Yeah it really was. Japan makes some lovely animal stories that don't require a dramatic rescue of a human to entertain the audience.

It's great to see films like this come out in an aide to show support for animals, but I'm going to need a box of tissues, just like I did for the Japanese , 'Quill' and 'All about my dog'.Thanks for the heads up.

jane - there's also some graphic scenes about a rescued dog that was abused.  some  'dog-people' next to us got all upset when those scenes came on and left the theater shortly after (as near as i can tell)
