Surprisingly easy to learn – for the most part logically laid out. A few annoying quirks, but I highly recommend picking up a copy and going for it.

Compared to the other apps I tried in the past (Motion Dive is too simplistic and VDMX is too complicated for beginners) Modul8 has the right combination of simple tools upfront but loads of power hidden away if you need it. Grab a demo.
