The Last Demon Slayer!

Hope you all came well into the new year!

The big film news here in Denmark is that Danish director Susanne Bier received the Oscar for best foreign language film for her movie 'In a Better World'! Big congrats to the whole Zentropa team and to Ms. Bier!!

With Danish film in focus I thought it would be a good time to start my blog about my experiences working on an upcoming project by my good friend Shaky Gonzalez.

The Chilean born, Denmark raised director was schooled the same place as Ms. Bier, at The 'National Film School of Denmark'. Graduates of this school also includes Shaky's own brother Stefano Gonzalez who I recently worked with on an upcoming pilot, Lars Von Trier, Thomas Vinterberg and the rest of the "Dogme" founders.

Most of these high profiles directors coming out from this school has impressed cinema goers world wide with very artistic accomplishments such as "the dogme films" or good ole social realistic drama.

Shaky has in many interviews always mentioned his love for "genre film". To be more exact horror movies, Italian Western, martial arts film, Bruce Lee, Sergio Leone, John Carpenter etc. And his debut feature film from 1998 'Angel of The Night' clearly showed that.

The Rodriguez inspired vampire action film oozed with style, John Woo gun-play action and martial arts.. At the time this had NEVER been seen in Danish cinema before!

The cast at the time included fresh faced actors such as Mads Mikkelsen, Ulrich Thomsen, Nicolai Coster Waldau etc.

Shaky staying true to his love for genre film followed up with the horror movie 'One Hell of a Christmas' with Thure Lindhardt. And in 2007 with his Sergio Leone tribute, the modern day western 'Pistoleros'.

Enter.. 'The Last Demon Slayer'.. A mix of Fantasy, Martial arts, and Horror.

The film is the tale of 7 holy warriors and a demon.. I play one of the main holy warriors chasing the evil.

Filming just commenced and an amazing crew and cast has been assembled, and I'm looking very much forward to continue my journey hunting down the evil beast with ALL of you!
