Welcome

Blog, you meant blog.  Oh good grief!  I could have sworn Mark and the guys at Alive not Dead told me to create a cog.  Do you have any idea how long I've been trying to make this stupid clock work?  Cogs are not easy to make by hand.  I'm a photographer, not a jeweler.  Of course, then I thought, maybe they mean a pair of shoes.  So I tried cobbling a pair of clogs; size 46.  I figured my first pair of wooden shoes ought to be for myself.  Turns out, photography skills don't help a person when it comes to carving wood either.  You guys really need to check those emails before you mail them out.

So welcome to my world.  I'm an Oregon transplant (Douglas Fir?) living in Shenzhen.  I grew up in quaint, provincial Ashland; a town of 19,000 inhabitants.  People here don't even consider that a town.  Personally, I find it a bit strange living among the 9 million people here.  That's more than twice the population of Oregon.  But this is home for now.

People usually ask me what kind of photographer I am.  Not sure how to answer that one.  Uh, the kind that uses a camera.  I shoot stills, mostly.  35mm.  Color.  Digital, lately.  And I suppose, if I had to pigeonhole myself, I am a travel photographer.
