Shooting my first Music Video for 曾經心痛

Wow, was that an experience or what! You know Music videos are not like films, there is no rolling credit at the end that do justice for the effort and time put in. So even though, these ppl may not ever read my blog, in fact, some don't even know it exists. I thought the public and my friends should know the team behind the scenes that made it happen.

I was so honored to have 小明哥(潘耀明) direct my video, he is also the director of photography for 狼牙. This guy truly is a perfectionist, he has a wonderful eye for capturing beauty and with his help and an amazing crew. I believe (fingers crossed) the Music Video will be a success! Everything was planned to the most minute detail, the MV was shot in both film as well as high def. They had all kinds of equipment, I don't know the names to many of them, but it certainly felt like a hollywood production with the cranes and everything. It was amazing to see everyone cooperate for the sake of the art of filming, rather than being solely commercially driven (which I am told happens way too often nowadays). Everyone got along perfectly, we hired out a tram for one of the scenes and cruising around Hong Kong was simply beautiful, albeit melancholic along the lyrics to the song.

I was also really really happy and lucky that Gary Chung, a good old friend of mine (who is far from old, rather young actually) volunteered to do my makeup. He is one of the best in the fashion world, from my experience as a model. He did a wonderful job, as always, and I had all the trust in him. I knew, with him, my makeup could not fail. It's also fun experimenting with the sexy smoky eyed look. Jackson Yung from Grand Hyatt Ilcolpo made the perfect duo with Gary, he did my hair for the Music Video. Again, I owe this guy so much, since he's been doing my hair since I was 14 years old. He pretty much watched me grow up. An amazing guy and one of the top hair stylists I have encountered in my life. I was so touched to hear that both him and Gary were helping me on this video, I cried. I really hope someday, I too, can impact them as they have impacted me!

Thanks guys for staying out till 3am to fix me up despite the hot hot hot weather before the typhoon and despite having to work early the next morning.

Karen and Stanley Cheung were my stylists for the shoot, they were really kind to take out time to design and make the outfits, they worked well for contrast and definitely gave my image a new spin.

You'll all be happy to find out Wu Jing also makes a special guest appearance in the video, I was sooooo ecstatic to find out he was willing to do this for me. I wouldn't even be here if it weren't for his advice and guidance through our training and shooting of the Legendary Assassin. I have all the respect for this guy and I whole-heartedly believe he will become successful internationally in a short span of time. The entertainment industry is lucky to have such a wonderful, intelligent, down-to-earth and driven guy like him. He has a big heart, and I'm proud to have met him.

Paco Wong and Syllina Tong, my two managers are also fantastic, the decision to work with them, is my wisest decision in a long time, they are open-minded, kind hearted, business savvy, managers. There would also not be a Celina Jade without the faith they have in me. You know, as a eurasian girl in an Asian market, there is a lot of doubt about the chances of success, but I don't feel that doubt at all with Paco and Syllina, they believe in me, and give me space to develop my artistic capabilities. I do believe, with them, we can go far. The music video/ film would not even be there if it weren't for them. I am eternally grateful in this aspect too.  PS. Paco has more courage than anyone I know, he is a leader and not a follower, I admire and respect him for this, he deserves every bit of success since he truly earns it!

Big thanks also go out to 高佬,(the 2 cinematographers), Maggie (production manager),Cox, 大毫,,阿細,阿成,Monita and Ashley (Makeup), Johnnie (from Ilcolpo), Barbara and Alvin (from Celebrity),阿Yan,孿T,阿明,偉仔,阿全 and the rest of the crew! They were all good teachers and took really good care of me. I will never forget their faces.

I can't wait to see the video when it's done. again, I cannot express how much gratitude I feel for all of 小明哥's help, vision and effort to put this video together. I had a wonderful experience and a memory I will keep for a lifetime.

As to photos, I'm really sorry, I was running around like a mad woman so I was unable to take any despite bringing my camera along. But Gary was very sweet to send a few he took on the tram.

Funny comment by Gary - but totally true!!  I had no idea how hot it would be night before the arrival of a typhoon, the MV literally is made of everyone's blood and sweat! hahaha

I'm really hoping more of the crew will send me photos they took! I'm missing too many photos here!
