Savage Grace event / B&E relocates for 2012

Savage Grace for the Year of the Dragon!

Its been way too long since I posted a blog, but I have many fine excuses! We've been in the process of moving our B&E offices from Sheung Wan to a new 3000 square foot facility in Cheung Sha Wan.

This houses our production offices, our Reel East movie memorabilia operation and a kung fu training area that also doubles as a photo studio/rehearsal area/you name it.

Space is at a premium in Hong Kong, so I feel we're blessed to have so much of it!

After we inherited the movie marketing materials from the classic Golden Harvest, Golden Princess, D and B and Movie Impact libraries, we set up www.reeleast.com to share these cinematic treasures with the world.

Its been great to see how our fellow fans around the globe have been keen to get original posters and lobby cards from their favourite films. I take a special joy in spreading the word, given that, when I was a fan, the studios, and especially Golden Harvest, guarded this stuff so jealously! Please take a look at the site, which is constantly being updated with new items, and also our affiliated magazine site ( http://reeleastmag.com/).

We will also be holding special events to promote this rich legacy of Hong Kong cinema. The first of these was a seminar on Tsui Hark's 'Once Upon A Time In China', which featured a surprise guest, cinematographer supreme Chris Doyle.

Our next will be Savage Grace (see flyer text at the top of the page), which will be held at A Gallery on Mee Lun Street this Thursday (the 9th) at 8pm.

We'll be exhibiting some classic artwork posters from the golden age of kung fu cinema, I'll be giving a brief talk (zzzz), we'll be screening some classic trailers and there'll be a couple of noteworthy guests.

If you can't make it on the 9th, fret not, the exhibition will be on display at our 'Fu Factory' in Block E, 1st Floor, Cheong Fat Factory Building, 346, Fuk Wing Street, Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon, Hong Kong. You are  welcome to come and check out the world's largest collection of commercially available Hong Kong movie memorabilia at any time.

If you have any queries, please contact Paul Verron at paul@bxe-productions.com.

Elsewhere in the building, our friendly helpful staff are ready to serve you...

As ever, a lot is happening on our 'day job' of film production, and I'll write more on that separately.
