The Twitter effect continues. Professional ball player Michael Beasley has checked himself into rehab a few days after one of his Twitter pics--a random pic meant to show off his room--showed a bag of weed . Of course, with him being a multi-millionaire professional athlete, that pic immediately became national sports story, and the jokes started coming in.

The fact that a random picture Beasley took of his place got him in trouble isn't the story here--although it again shows how Twitter is changing the way communication/media works--the bigger story is we are witnessing a potential tragedy of a young misguided minority youth--live in real time and uncensored.

are Mr Beasley's final tweets before his account was abruptly shut down.

When news broke of him going into rehab, sports writers cracked jokes about it. Another idiot million celeb wasting his life away, right? But it stopped being funny the second those troubled tweets made it on the web.

Someone needs to guide the young fella. Twitter blew something out of proportion and perhaps sent the young man into his current low (although he probably had issues to begin with), but if the right guidance comes along, and more importantly, if Beasley himself is willing to accept guidance, then it would be a good thing in the long run.

Once again I'm seeing that money isn't all that. Beasley has everything. But he's clearly lost and confused.

Come on B, get back on track. You and DWade gotta make a run.
