Lau Ching Wan!

After two years of working as a journalist, I finally, finally met Lau Ching Wan yesterday at Macau. I rarely ask to have my photograph taken with people I interview, but I couldn't resist and had to take one with the LCW.

I grew up watching the man when he was known as FIT LO in the TVB series Police Cadet. He was like, the AC Slater to Tony Leung's Zack Morris on that show.

Over the last decade, I've admired LCW because of his great work in Johnnie To films: all the 90s stuff and 2007's deceptively-deep Mad Detective.

But right now, I'm watching Now TV Movies and guess what's on?

LCW plays a bitter musician who learns to look at life in a more optismitic way after he meets Min, who suffers from leukemia but still manages to be bubbly and happy go lucky.

Of course, this is a tearjerker and you know how it ends. I usually hate tearjerkers but this one is special because Lau Ching Wan and Anita Yuen were magical in this.

Lau Ching Wan, easily one of the best actors in Hong Kong.

I must say, I've been grinning like this alot lately. With or without LCW.
