永遠的女優 原節子：河內山宗俊、小姐乾杯！

在《河內山宗俊》可以看到原節子十五歲時候的驚艷演出，飾演幕府年代賣甜酒為生的女孩，是她較少有的古裝演出，恰如我見猶憐的古典美人模樣。導演山中貞雄只有三部電影逃過戰火留存下來，除了代表作《人情紙風船》，從《河內山宗俊》亦可一睹山中貞雄的電影美學與才華。原節子在《小姐乾杯！》則是溫婉嫻熟而且驚為天人的大家閨秀，兩三個眼神已奠下女神形象。木下惠介導演新藤兼人的劇本，節奏明快，敘事俐落，一氣呵成，絕對賞心悅目。

Hara Setsuko Forever: PRIEST OF DARKNESS and HERE'S TO THE YOUNG LADY

When the blossoming Hara Setsuko appeared in the period drama PRIEST OF DARKNESS, she was only 15 years old. It's one of the three existing pre-war masterpieces by Yamanaka Sadao, where Hara plays the elder sister of a good-for-nothing, with her delicate yet determined demeanor subverting the male-dominated world. In Kinoshita Keisuke's HERE'S TO THE YOUNG LADY, Hara is luminous as the young woman, at first willing to sacrifice for her family, but later deciding she must follow her heart's calling. Kinoshita's makes excellent use of small gestures and telling facial expressions, with a touch of subdued humor from a script by Shindo Kaneto.
