夏日國際電影節2016 修復經典：羅生門

正因為黑澤明拍出了這部《羅生門》，自此「羅生門」三個字，就成了人們基於不同立場對同一件事說出不同版本的代名詞，前陣子連流行曲都拿來做歌名。糅合芥川龍之介原著小說《羅生門》和《竹藪中》，匯成一代電影經典，不但摘下威尼斯影展最佳電影金獅獎，當年奧斯卡未設立最佳外語片獎，亦特別頒了個榮譽獎給它。

在8月19日的映後談中，朗天談到黑澤明簡約的場面調度，他善用特寫去增添戲劇張力，更利用鏡子去放大自然光，令影片成為自然光的示範作。黑澤明採用前衛的手法探討敘事本質，說明所有的重述也帶有主觀色彩，其對人性的探究更提升了影片的層次。8月24日放映最後一場，拷貝為原負片4K修復版，萬勿錯過。

SummerIFF16 Restored Classics: RASHOMON

Ever since Kurosawa Akira made RASHOMON, the term "Rashomon effect" becomes widely used to refer to real-world situations where multiple eye-witness testimonies of an event contain conflicting information. Adapted from Ryunosuke Akutagawa's short stories "Rashomon" and "In a Grove", the film won the Golden Lion Best Film at Venice, and the Honorary Award at Oscar.

In the post-screening talk on 19 Aug, film critic Long Tin discussed Kurosawa's use of close-ups for dramatic tension, and his innovative use of mirrors to enhance the natural light. Kurosawa further questions the nature of truth through the use of multiple narratives to indicate that all narratives are subjective. Don't miss the 4K restoration of this classic on the big screen, which will be shown on 24 Aug.
