SAVING GENERAL YANG has glitzy world premiere at 37th HKIFF

Produced by Raymond WONG and directed by Ronny YU, the long-awaited

had its world premiere at 37 th Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) tonight at Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Leading actors Adam CHENG, Ekin CHENG, YU Bo, Vic CHOU, Raymond LAM and WU Chun, producer Raymond WONG, director Ronny YU,associate producerAnnette SHUM,scriptwriter Edmund WONG,and CEO of Pegasus Motion Pictures John CHONG all appeared at the red carpet to support the festival and wish the film a remarkable success.

 

A RMB 250 million epic period piece,

spices up the well-known actioner cum family drama by casting some of the most popular stars from Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, as well as veteran Adam CHENG who hasn’t graced the big screen for over 20 years. Director Ronny YU commented, “Many people today regard filial piety and other traditional Chinese values as something trivial, even laughable. With this film I aim to encourage audiences to reflect on fundamental moral attitudes while enjoying the riveting action of the legendary Yang brothers.”

 

Speaking of his collaboration with several up-and-coming actors after a long break from film acting, Adam CHENG said jokingly, “They may be younger, but I look just as cool in the fighting sequences. Thanks to our action choreographer Stephen TUNG, whose meticulous design brought out our most dazzling potential and made possible numerous unique and mind-blowing battle scenes!”
