聖誕派對、山椒大夫、西鶴一代女

《西鶴一代女》多數場面不超過五個鏡頭，令時空無縫往還，視覺驚美，還有純簡古樂，連溝口健二也不違言是自己傑作。《山椒大夫》以片中的大惡人命名，彷彿向世間作永恆提示，人的情懆與命運呼應悠悠天地，構圖與場面調度都是經典。

Considered his best film by Mizoguchi himself, LIFE OF OHARU excels in demonstrating his customarily masterful mise-en-scène, combined with carefully choreographed character movements and delicate music to create exquisitely beautiful compositions.

In SANSHO THE BAILIFF, curiously named after its villain, Mizoguchi reminds us of human resilience in the cruel twist of fate. The elegance of his compositions and his theory "one scene, one shot" came into perfection in this Japanese classic of all time.
