In 1962, Francois Truffaut spent eight days with Alfred Hitchcock for a series of in-depth interviews that would culminate in the book, Hitchcock/Truffaut, which lifted the status of the “Master of Suspense” from Hollywood entertainer to serious artist. Along with excerpts from the interview recordings, Kent Jones gathers ten contemporary directors to reveal how the book influenced their careers and their approach to cinema.
