Media accreditation open for application from 28 January to 28 February 2013

 

24 January 2013 (Hong Kong) ― The 37 th Hong Kong International Film Festival will be held from 17 March – 2 April 2013; the 11 th Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum will be held from 18 – 20 March 2013; and the 7 th Asian Film Awards will be held on 18 March 2013. Organiser The Hong Kong International Film Festival Society (HKIFFS) announced today that media accreditation will be open for application online at http://society.hkiff.org.hk/ en/pressaccreditationmedia. php from 28 January to 28 February 2013. Journalists worldwide are invited to apply to attend Asia’s premier film events.

 

The 37 th Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF)

 

Screening over 250 titles from all over the world every year, the annual HKIFF is upheld globally as one of the most reputable platforms for movie-goers to enjoy a diversity of new releases and old classics. It is also widely known as a lifestyle event that consists of film premieres, exhibitions, seminars and parties, embracing an audience of near 600,000.

 

The HKIFF press pass is given to successfully accredited media and film reviewers in particular to attend non sold-out screenings during the festival, and to watch DVDs of selected films in the HKIFF programme at the Hospitality Office & Media Centre located at 4/F, Administration Building, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, open from 16 March – 2 April 2013.

 

Journalists who only wish to attend the HKIFF Grand Opening, premieres and other events do not need to apply for media accreditation.Instead contacts should be sent to pr@hkiff.org.hk to be included in the HKIFF mailing and invitation list.

The 11 th Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF)

 

Widely recognised as Asia’s leading film-financing platform, HAF brings Asian filmmakers with upcoming projects to Hong Kong to explore co-production opportunities with top financiers, producers, investors, distributors and buyers. Attracting over 1,000 filmmakers and funders from at least 35 countries and regions, 25 – 30 projects are selected annually to participate in the three-day event. Past participants include China's JIA Jiangke and JIANG Wen; Hong Kong's Peter CHAN, Stanley KWAN, Ann HUI, Fruit CHAN and PANG Ho-cheung; Taiwan's TSAI Ming-Liang, WEI Te-Sheng and Leon DAI; Japan's KORE-EDA Hirokazu and IWAI Shunji; as well as South Korea's PARK Chan-wook, KIM Jee-woon, BONG Joon-ho and IM Sang-soo.

 

The HAF media badge is given to successfully accredited media and the trade press in particular to access the fairground of HAF and its concurrent event, the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market (FILMART), both of which will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The 7 h Asian Film Awards (AFA)

 

Since 2007, AFA has sought to highlight the best in Asian cinema to the world, and to promote Asian film culture both regionally and internationally. Eminent filmmakers, distinguished guests and acclaimed talents from around the world are invited to bestow awards upon winner(s) in each category, making the Ceremony a stunning extravaganza as well as an influential cultural event that helps position Hong Kong as the hub of Asian cinema.

 

The AFA press badge is given to successfully accredited media to access specific press zones on the day of the Ceremony, including but not limited to the Red Carpet, the Grand Hall and the backstage, to capture exciting and glamorous moments of this international event.

The deadline for media accreditation for the 37 th HKIFF, the 11 th HAF and the 7 th AFA is 28 February 2013.Applications with complete information and all required supporting documents will be processed for around two weeks from the date of submission. HKIFF, HAF and AFA applications will go under separate review, and separate emails will follow on or before 9 March 2013 to inform applicants of the result. ||
