離經有道 保羅韋浩雲：愛是放縱、亂世神女、第四任丈夫

當人人都說商業和藝術難兩全其美，保羅韋浩雲卻一再寫下特例，在他闖盪荷里活之前，早年作品已經部部擲地有聲。《愛是放縱》被荷蘭電影節選為二十世紀最佳荷蘭電影，講述年輕雕刻家遇上心儀女子，兩人享受愛慾狂歡，但世間良緣每多波折，保羅韋浩雲拍來激越奔放，與男女主角組成銀幕鐵三角，當年票房大破紀錄，更獲奧斯卡最佳外語片提名。

《亂世神女》是奇女子被逼出賣肉體養家，決心力爭上游殺出血路，保羅韋浩雲以媲美貝托魯奇的大膽和法斯賓達的激情，道盡亂世神女的辛酸，盡顯駕馭大場面的功力。《第四任丈夫》是小說家碰上黑寡婦的致命誘惑，集偷窺、暴力、驚險於一身，可說是《本能》前奏。三部電影均放映35mm菲林拷貝。

Paul Verhoeven, the Gutsy Provocateur: TURKISH DELIGHT, KATIE TIPPEL and THE FOURTH MAN

Paul Verhoeven is known for his commercial successes in Hollywood, but his arthouse Dutch films already offer thoughtful explorations of love, patriotism and injustice amid death and betrayal. Named the Best Dutch Film of the 20th Century by Netherlands Film Festival, TURKISH DELIGHT tells the story of a sculptor who has a stormy, erotic and star-crossed romance with a beautiful young girl. The film was also nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars.

In KATIE TIPPEL, also starring Rutger Hauer and Monique van de Ven of TURKISH DELIGHT, a poor young girl is forced into prostitution to feed her family who fights to escape. Considered a prequel to BASIC INSTINCT, THE FOURTH MAN is a film noir with profound ambiguities of plot, character and atmosphere where a novelist falls for a woman whose three former husbands are all dead. All three films will be screened with 35mm film prints.
