HAF celebrates 10th anniversary with a record-breaking 32 projects| 32個入選計劃 HAF破紀錄迎十年

The 10th Hong Kong - Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), to be held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 19-21 March 2012, announced today a record number of 32 projects selected for HAF 2012 and hailing from 20 different territories including Australia, Armenia, China, Czech Republic, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, Malaysia, The Phliippines, Slovakia, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.

                                                            international 
                                                            networks and in

                                                            The HAF 2012 
                                                            project line-up 
                                                            features some 
                                                            prominent names, 
                                                            including 
                                                            China's 

GU Changwei, who won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2005 Berlin Film Festival with his first feature . He will be presenting his new project

                                                            at the 10th HAF. 
                                                            Also joining is 
                                                            Iceland’s 
                                                            veteran 
                                                            filmmaker 

Fridrik Thor FRIDRIKSSON, whose was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 1992 Academy Awards. He will bring his latest story L to the forum. Meanwhile, TAN Chui Mui will come with

, a project produced by "Sixth Generation" director JIA Zhangke. Other well-known names include: Oscar winner Ruby YANG, who snared Best Documentary (Short Subject) with at the 2007 Academy Awards; South Korea's LEE Hae-jun, who won the Audience Award at the 2010 Udine Far East Film Festival with ; Hong Kong's

PANG Ho-cheung, who was nominated for the Golden Bear at the 2006 Berlin Film Festival with ; and Australia's

Tony AYRES, whose

                                                            garnered a total 
                                                            of 8 prizes at 
                                                            the 2007 
                                                            Australia Film 
                                                            Institute 
                                                            Awards, 
                                                            including Best 
                                                            Direction and 
                                                            Best Screenplay.






                                                            This year’s HAF 
                                                            is also the 
                                                            first to include 
                                                            documentary 
                                                            projects. Among 
                                                            the 6 
                                                            documentaries 
                                                            selected are 

, Malaysia director Dain SAID's exploration of the ways cinema can collude with a totalitarian regime, and by Hong Kong's CHEUNG King-wai, who expands his humanitarian concerns in the critically acclaimed

                                                            (2008) to 
                                                            address the 
                                                            impact of 
                                                            China’s market 
                                                            economy on the 
                                                            life of 
                                                            musicians.

here for a complete list of all projects selected for the 10th HAF. | 第10屆香港亞洲電影投資會 (HAF) 將於2012年3月19日至21日假香港會議展覽中心舉行。本屆HAF打破紀錄選出共32個電影計劃,來自20個國家及地區,其中包括澳洲、亞美尼亞、中國、捷克、香港、印尼、印度、以色列、日本、黎巴嫩、 馬來西亞、菲律賓、斯洛伐克、南韓、台灣和泰國。

                                                            香港國際電影節協會總監高思雅(Roger 

GARCIA)表示:「今年我們接獲的申請顯著上升,而且獲選計劃題材豐富、形式廣泛,足見HAF漸受歡迎,對區內電影人的重要性亦不斷增加。為電影籌集 資金畢竟不容易,我希望HAF能繼續凝聚國際影壇上擅於研發、製作和推廣的專業人士,藉此實現各式各樣的電影計劃。 我們亦非常重視跟其他電影計劃市場的伙伴關係,例如哥本哈根的DOX:LAB、紐約的Independent Filmmaker Project和法國的Paris Project,著力擴展HAF的國際網絡,讓更多不同的電影製作人得到我們的支持。」

                                                            第10屆HAF獲選計劃中不乏著名電影人的最新構想,當中包括憑《偉大的和平來自於對戰爭的不懈準備》入圍的

顧長衛,其首作《孔雀》勇奪2005年柏林影展評審團大獎。 憑《Children of Nature》提名1992年奧斯卡金像獎最佳外語片的冰島導演 Fridrik Thor FRIDRIKSSON亦帶來全新故事《Lost in Poetry》,足見HAF豐富多元的國際視野。另一亮點則為 陳翠梅的新計劃《狀元圖》,由中國第六代名導 賈樟柯監製。其他入選的導演包括:2007年奧斯卡金像獎最佳紀錄短片得主、《穎州的孩子》導演 楊紫燁;憑《荒島男與俏宅女》拿下2010年烏甸尼遠東電影節最受觀眾歡迎獎的南韓導演 李海準;憑《伊莎貝拉》提名2006年柏林影展最佳電影金熊獎的香港鬼才導演 彭浩翔;以及來自澳洲的 湯尼艾里斯,其名作《意》(2007)曾於澳洲電影金像獎一舉贏得最佳導演、最佳編劇等八個獎項。

                                                            為鼓勵不同形式的電影創作,本屆HAF首次接受紀錄片提案,並選出6個入圍計劃。馬來西亞導演

Dain SAID藉新計劃《(Un)making the Betrayal》反思政治、歷史和電影的相互關係,而香港導演 張經緯的《音樂中國》亦成功入圍,延續前作《音樂人生》(2008)的人文關懷,探討現今中國的市場經濟對內地音樂家造成的衝擊。
