Yaksa's original Chinese name is 'Ye Cha', and they moved from Sichuan to Beijing in March 1997. Yaksa was the first new metal band in Beijing at that time, and became more and more involved in the underground scene of Beijing until the end of 1999. Yaksa signed a contract with Scream Records in March 2000. Their first album [ Freedom] was released by Scream Records in December2000, and the second album [Fa Fa Fa] was released in 2003.

Within 10years, Yaksa has been performed in many big music festivals all over China, such as

“Live Vocals” concert, “Green Beijing” concert, ChaoYang Music Festival and so on; over 300 live concert in bars or live houses; also performed in MiDi Music Festival from 2002—2006 as a piece of resistance band. Yaksa stands for powerful new metal, a loaded weapon ready to release its deadly blast, a metal machine rumbling from the grounds of the beats to the highs of their riffs. Join one of their concerts and join the moshing crowds that pogo to songs like "Freedom" or "Like a bitch". Prepare yourself for their hateloaded last song of each show, the mighty "Fuck, Fuck, Fuck". This song is not only the end of show, but normally also the end for you as you've lost all your energy screaming out the final "Fuck" to end a wonderful evening.

In 2006, after their newest EP has been produced, Yaksa is absolutely a mature and leading metal band in China. They combine both of Eastern and Western elements in their music, and explain them on their powerful show. Now, they are getting ready for the new coming era of hard rock!
