Tushar began his theatrical odyssey at the age of 9, and quickly discovered that the stage offered him the anti-quotidian experiences he had always thirsted for. He began learning the craft at a professional level in the Dramaplus Arts, under Roger Jenkins and his team of instructors, until Dramaplus Arts ended their training programs. As a result of this tenure, Tushar considers himself predominantly trained in Improv, both as an art form and an actor’s tool. He has also been trained in Stanislavsky’s System and Method Acting during his two-year stint at ACJC where he studied Theatre Studies and Drama. He has also studied other forms of theatre—e.g. Commedia, Mask and Mime.

Tushar also has a vested interest in, and a special fascination for, languages. The English language especially holds a special place in his heart; including the writing, reading and teaching of it. He thinks of language as one of the pinnacles of human achievement and wishes to impart this thirst for language, and knowledge, to all who come under his tutelage. For Tushar life itself is a learning process, and whether it is with his thespian pursuits or his linguistic ones, he wishes to continue on his journey of discovery as everything evolves with time.

Not wanting to limit himself to the stage, Tushar also explores the world of screen acting, having acted for TischAsia students, as well a going for a regular workshop that is the bench-press for his acting muscle, Word of the Actor sessions with fellow passionate thespians.

Outside of performance, Tushar has a veritable variety of interests spanning quantum physics to literature to mythology.
