Hong Kong (1/21): Quick Plugs

First, I wanted to introduce a friend of mine who just joined the site.  Elika Mahony is a singer / songwriter based out of Beijing.  She's very international having parents from Iran, born in the U.S., raised in Kenya and living in China, Israel and Hong Kong.  Please check out her page and leave her a comment if you have time.  Hopefully we can get her added as an artist at some point in the near future. (fingers crossed)

You can check out the link to her myspace page to check out her music or buy one of her newly released CDs.

Second, I wanted to post up a notice about an event coming up.  It's not really an "artists" sort of event and wouldn't get added to our events area, so I'm posting it here.  If you want to attend with me, let me know.  It's this Sunday.

Warmly invites you to observe

27th January 2008, 4-6 pm

Room AC1, Level 4, Administration Building

Hong Kong Cultural Center, 10 Salisbury Road,

Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon

The Bahá’í Community of Hong Kong is observing World Religion Day on Sunday, January 27th, 2008, from 4 – 6 pm.

The theme: “The Spiritual Foundations for an Ecologically Sustainable Society.”

The aim of World Religion day is to foster the establishment of interfaith understanding and harmony by emphasizing the common denominators underlying all religions. World Religion day is observed throughout the world and is dedicated to encouraging the leaders and followers of every religion to acknowledge the similarities in each of our sacred Faiths and approach the changes confronting humanity in a manner which enables us to see the whole earth as a single country and humanity as its citizenry.

For more information, please contact the Bahá’í Centre at 2367-6407

The conservation of Nature requires first of all a vision of wholeness in our relationship to Nature.  This requires a perspective of human evolution and human purpose that unifies material and spiritual realities.  Therefore we would like to focus on the individual, the family and the society’s responsibility and attitude towards the use of resources provided by Mother Nature.
