I was born and raised in Sapporo, Japan, and at the age of five I started learning koto, a Japanese traditional instrument. I kept practicing and performing at multiple concerts within the city until I moved to America.
After earning a BS in sociology and criminology at a University in Los Angeles, I had to decide whether to go to a graduate school for law or to focus on a career in acting. I finally made my decision, which was obviously to pursue acting.
Ever since I was a child, acting was my ultimate dream and it was the main reason I left my home in Japan to come to the States on my own. I am glad that I made the right decision for myself because I truly believe that this is the place I should be living in and the career I should be pursuing.
