About Me
Tam was born and raised on August 24 in Toronto, Canada. There weren’t many young Asian female dancers while Tam was growing up. She was one of the few in the Toronto Community to be active as an Asian performer.
She started to perform at age 4, performing recitals at her dance schools to dancing at Toronto’s prestigious concert halls - Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall. She started her own youth dance company, Kaiyotes Dance Inc. at a tender age of 17, while still going to school. Ms. Tam lead her company to Canadian recognition by teaching them the art of being versatile dancers and mastering the technique of each dance.
Kaiyotes titles includes:
1st place in Toronto Regions in Jazz Funk (2004)
1st place in Canadian Finals for Lyrical (2005)
3rd place in North American Dance Contest in Lyrical (2006)
2nd place in North American Finals in Lyrical and Theatre (2007)
Tam believes being a versatile dancer is the art of a real dancer. She specializes in Jazz Funk, Ballroom, Lyrical, Modern Contemporary, Theatre and Jazz.
She attended The National Ballet School, The Xing Ballet & Chinese Dance School, Baythorn School of Arts and Unionville High School of the Arts exposing her to other forms of arts such as singing, instrumental and also acting. She graduated with honors and then moved on to teaching, performing, choreographing dance as a professional while she continued her marketing degree in University.
Soon after Tam graduated she started producing, teaching, performing and competing dance and acting in commercials and small films. She toured the world and won many dance awards and even got to be in a Hollywood film with Antonio Banderas in “Take The Lead”.
