I was intending to blog about each film I've been involved with this month but I have been far too busy and exhausted to do any. Let us say that all the films have been interesting experiences.The first one was a cross cultural romance featuring a bit of martial arts beneath Boscombe Pier. Here we battled rain and wind while shooting what was to be a sunny summer fling.The second was about a cross dresser caught out by his teenage daughter, and here we battled a burglar alarm that insisted on sounding out and bringing a night shoot to a premature end meaning we had to go off the next night for another grueling night shoot.And the third was about "Mad" Frankie Frazer, a notorious gangster of the sixties noted for his interest in adhoc hairdressing.Now one might think that the team has blended into one well oiled machine ready and waiting to launch into my production. However, let us say that long hours, heavy lifting, and creative differences have all taken their toll on the nerves of my fellow filmmakers. I'm sensing a certain lack of interest in getting up at six in the morning to begin my shoot on Tuesday. However, I promise them a sunny day on the beach frolicking naked in the surf while I casually wave my magic directorial finger and conjure up a world of wonder and comedy.My film is about a Neanderthal who come out of the New Forest in search of some loving. His approach to finding a mate in modern Bournemouth is pretty direct. He sees what women want, essentially bright shiny things, and gives them it and in return he expects them to give him what he wants. It is a psychological drama of great depth with added zombies.The zombies actually have nothing to do with the plot but I felt that one could not make a student film without having a zombie in there. And as everyone  knows Zombies have to be naked and mostly female, well actually, entirely female. They say that a filmmaker is a true filmmaker when he makes films that fully explore his inner most motivations.
