Little Nyonya

little-nyonya

Today, I finally watched “The Little Nyonya”, or part of it anyway. I haven’t been an avid follower but I watched the final two episodes on MobTV today to catch a few friends in action. And three of them appeared in the finale episode, amazingly. Haha.

Since I haven’t been following the show, I had no idea which roles they were playing.

So there was Fish a.k.a follower of Liu Yidao (San Yow).

I only managed to catch his Little Nyonya performance because he uploaded it onto Youtube. Otherwise, I saw him briefly in the final episode, cleaning the bird’s nest. Amusing scene - to watch all the former gangsters carefully cleaning out the bird’s nest. The power of Yueniang - to transform everyone around her to become better people? She was slightly too perfect for my liking.

Then there was Eddie, the ex-boyfriend of Anqi (Felicia Chin).

Glad that he received this role to further himself in the industry. Though I was rooting for Nat Ho’s character to win the heart of Anqi in the end, because honestly speaking, I think Desmond (Eddie’s character) was a bit selfish. But well, it’s all part of the plot.

The most shocking thing was to find that Yueniang (Jeanette Aw) didn’t marry Chen Xi (Qi Yuwu) in the end. Despite all the hardship she went through & all the love, care & concern which Chen Xi showered upon her, they did not end up together. Divorce was considered “headline news”. But what happened after Zhenzhu left Chen Xi? Didn’t it mean that Yueniang could be together with Chen Xi?

Too many questions. Anyway, the outcome was that Yueniang married Paul (Bobby Tonelli) in the end. Shocking. Did she really love Paul? Or was he just an escape route for her? If so, then she is too selfish. Not at all like her self-sacrificing character. Or maybe she got tired of being self-sacrificing.

Haha, anyway Bobby was my co-actor in a previous shoot as well.

He looked amazingly different in “The Little Nyonya” without his moustache & goatee. One of the freelance producers I know was impressed by Bobby’s “leading man looks” & thought he should be a Channel 5 star. Haha.

Glad to see all of them making headway in their careers. Now, is it my turn? Will I get to watch myself on TV sometimes soon as well? Hopefully. *crossing my fingers & praying hard*

Anyway, my favourite character in the entire“The Little Nyonya”  series, granted that I’ve only watched about 7 full episodes, is Yamamoto Yousuke , played by Dai Yang Tian(read his blog). Incredibly cute & good-looking, yet very stable & mature in his screen presence & acting. swoon

Definitely the next big thing to watch. Wow. I don’t know what I’d do if I bump into him one day in MediaCorp. Be stunned? Ask for a photo? Faint? Hahahaha.
:) Nah. I’d probably just steal a look then pass him by.

I want to be on TV too.
