Viewed photos finally

Yesterday night 12th July went down to the bridal studio to view the PS (photoshoot) photos. Initially wanted to have a light dinner, but ended up we went in to view 1st without dinner at ard 6pm plus. Fiance told me to view the photos 1st as he walked from office to the studio.

Held a thick stack of photos, fiance recalled was 190 over...and that was after elimination by the photographer for photos which we blinked etc. Actually i wanted to view those too, but too bad, it's not in the stack. Good and bad. Good is becoz in the end we took 4 hr plus till ard 11pm, if with the eliminated photos, wonder wat time we'd be done.

Our package consists of 24 photos 15R size and 6 designs, and after a few hrs we narrowed down from the 190 over to 58, then 55. I tot i took quite fast to eliminate as i'm a very critical person...good also if not our budget will burst. I realised they are pretty smart, take the same kind of photos in different colour and backdrop- that causes you to choose more photos inevitably since they are different 'sets'. Before my fiance reached the studio, i was already picking out the choice photos. Then let him see everything again to compare.

Actually, i was pretty surprised at the cheongsam photos with the big painting backdrop, becoz i was thinking my fiance did a better job in taking those than the photographer!!!! Was pretty disappointed but good also, if not would spend more $$ on photos. Luckily we brought our camera to the PS, if not would lose out. Moral of the story: Take extra photos with your camera on your PS!!! Luckily there were nice photos of the cheongsam on the field of my university campus. Also, my wedding gown train was not nicely unfurled, which i was also unhappy about. Sigh, when i sensed my discomfort during the PS, should have just voice out....

All in all, we had additional 30 photos to top up, and altogether 14 designs meaning small photos onto a big photo with little resemblance of a collage. And it costs S$1.4k. The most headache part is how to calculate the additional costs. Additional full page photos would costs $75 per piece, whereas each design photo pose would cost $40 per piece, and extra ones would have an additional $40. And i felt there's something internally flawed about the package's 24 photo 6 design combination. Becoz within the 24 photos, how to have nicely 6 design combinations?? There's a duality of full pgs and design pgs.....Was thinking hard on how to make the best costs out of the combinations. But my fiance said it didnt matter, it's the same...and that it's better to have full pgs counted in the package first, since they charge poses on designs in the package as well. Anyway, when i told them i wanted to exchange the teadress for photos, the photographer told me can only exchange for 1 more!!!! i was like HUH? That's pathetic.....so that's how i arrived 55-25=30 photos additional. So per photo, whether full pg or design combination, it costs average ard S$47 just to top up.

Okie it's pretty complicated. That's why we took so long 4 hrs to eliminate photos, grouping and classifying photos for full pg or design pg, and calculating of costs. We even help her to write full pg and design at the back of photos, scotch tape the photos together at the back to make things easier for the designer...i guess if we dun help ourselves, who will. But actually that should be the responsibility of the shop.

So in the end, i can only get the soft copies via CD-ROM on the 16th August....which is slightly more than a month away...sigh. But cannot rush them wor, if not they may not do a proper job for designing the album layout. Then additional things to do on that preview day are choosing the cover for the album, choosing the photo frames and the photos for the table top photo, wall photo, wall photo type: 3 in 1 or one big one. Collecting the CD ROM soft copies is my top priority. The physical copies can be collected in Sept no hurry, i guess...

There's so much to do for a wedding huh...still gotta settle the caterer, the church florists, the invitation card printing, writing and sending out, printing of church wedding booklets, photostating of scores for my choir, MC and coordinator things to say/do.....and all will be finished in 2 days in my case.
