I've Just Seen Two Great Films!

At this busy time of year I want to quickly share with you two great films I have just seen.  Since I was invited to screenings I am not sure if they have opened in your area yet but please put them on your "must see" list.  They are:

The Great Debaters

Wonderful story, wonderful actors, great direction.  It is inspiring and lots of drama.  Denzel Washington shows that he knows a great story and knows what to do with it.  I was able to hear him speak after the screening.  What a joy to hear a successful actor/movie star who really loves to help others and actually gets more excited about the young actors in his movie than about himself.  Such a pleasure to see a great actor who still has his feet on the ground.  Must see.

Grace is Gone

wonderful small film.  John Cusak is once again stepping out of his comfort zone and choosing a role where he is almost not recognizable.   A moving film.  Quirky but universally relatable!.  Love it and you will too.  Must See

And at this time of year I pull out my secret stash of HOLIDAY FILMS.  If you want me to share some let me know!!!!

Talk soon.

Hi Thanks for sharing your 2 new favs re: movies. I like both Denzel and John's work. I think they are very natural and layered in their performance. However, with Denzel's wonderful range, I felt the story of American Gangster did not really showcase his range too well. I saw a really violent film, Eastern Promises. I have always liked Viggo Mortensen's acting. In hearing him talk in the Q/A, got to understand that he is a very detailed and committed actor. Very prepared. It shows in his performance. If Violent content movie is something you are open to, it's worth seeing VM.
