Today I turn 31 on 11.11.11. Some people say when you see 11:11 on a clock you should make a wish. I’ve been seeing 11:11 my whole life and every time I do see it, I don’t wish but I pray for one thing, that I may know Jesus more.

I’ve lived 30 years and I pray if I am given another 30 years or more, that my only aim is to know Him more, the power of His resurrection and to fellowship with Him in His sufferings. I pray I will love Him more intensely and passionately the day I die than I do right now. Love grows with time. I pray my love for my Lord and Savior Jesus will grow with each day. Why do I love Him? Because He first loved me. Why do I want to die knowing Him? Because Jesus died to know me. Why do I want to serve Him all my days? Because Jesus sacrificed all and laid down His life to serve me. Why do I want to preach the Gospel? Because Jesus suffered, died and resurrected so that all could be forgiven of sin and be reconciled to the Father. Why do I thank Him? Because every time I fail Him His love never fails me. Why do I praise Him? Because He is so good to me and His love is crazy for me. Why do I worship Him? Because Jesus is King if kings, Lord of lords, Prince of peace. Why would I live for anything else but Him? If Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, then why live for anything else? Or even waste our time on anything else?

I pray I will look more and more like Him with each passing day. Am I perfect? No, I am human. But my goal is to be just like Jesus. I’m a far way off, trust me, I have bones in the closet that I’m not proud of. These past few years I’ve lost my way from the pure and simple devotion to Jesus Christ that I once knew. Sometimes you get so caught up with yourself, what you want to do for Jesus that you lose Jesus and in the process lose yourself. Sadly, that’s been my story, but that is not the end of my story. Today I turn 31 and today I set my heart like flint to know and follow hard after You. Today I surrender myself at the foot of the cross and commit my life again into the loving care and discipline of God. Today I choose to love You above all else.

Give me one pure and holy passion. Give me one magnificent obsession. Give me one glorious ambition for my life. To know and follow hard after you.

Your love is amazing, steady and unchanging. Your love is a mountain, firm beneath my feet. Your love is a mystery, how You gently lift me. When I am surrounded, Your love carries me. You are beautiful, beautiful beyond words can express. I want to love you to my very last breath. I want to be with you till my dying death. I want to see you every moment I’m alive, I want to be with you because when I am with you I feel fully alive. You’re the fire that burns deep within my soul, You’re the love I’ve always wanted since I can remember, You love me from January to December, you love eternally and forever, I never want to love anyone else more than You, because You showed me what true love is when I didn’t know what to do, where to go, where to run, where to hide, your amazing love gave me the strength to survive. Your amazing, there’s no other word to explain it, amazing because when I think about your love I’m stuck in awe, amazement, how could someone love me like this? How could someone love me so perfectly, even though I am so imperfect, your love makes me nervous, you’re love is amazing.

Your love is surprising, I can feel it rising. All the joy that’s growing deep inside of me. Every time I see You, all Your goodness shines through. And I can feel this God song, rising up in me. I can feel this love song overflowing out of me. When you are in love, you do crazy things. You do things you never thought you would or thought you could do, because love doesn’t demand an answer, love just loves without regard of what the other person thinks, or how the person responds. Love gives with no expectations. True love is always expressed in action that seeks only for the highest good of the person loved. Love involves sacrifice. Love always considers the needs of another before its own. This is the love that you’ve shown. This is the kind of amazing love that I’ve known, a love that gives without condition, a love that loves solely as its mission. Your love has brought me down to my knees, your love has given me more than I could ever ask for, more than I could ever need, your love bleeds, that’s how much you love me, that you would love me so much you would die for me, cry for me, be hung on a cross for me, I’m lost for words.

You got me. You shot me with your love and I’m swimming in your forgiveness. What is this? What is this kind of love? A love that I can’t find here on earth, but somehow this love came down from heaven and met me. Your love let me experience what I didn’t deserve, call it grace, call it mercy, I call it Your Word, your promise, that you loved me even when I didn’t even acknowledge you, you stood with open arms even when I turned my back on you. You took me in when I was homeless, you loved me when I was fatherless, you forgave me when I was prodigal, you called me when I hostile, you paid the price for my sin when I should have went in, I should have went in to complete darkness, you sparked this light in me that I didn’t know existed, before anyone believed in me, you purposed me and fashioned me before my existence, and I’m thankful, I’m so thankful, I’m so grateful, because without you in my life, I’d be dead and gone, but your love is stronger than death, your love is stronger than life’s breath, your love isn’t just amazing, it’s everything.
