Back in 2015 when I was on exchange in Boston, I spent many weekends (as well as Christmas and New Year) in New York City, watching as many Broadway shows as I could. I remember Curious Incident being one of my favourite, even though it was a rare straight play in a place that’s more often than not drowned out by larger-than-life musicals. When I first auditioned for @methodproductions_sg’s That’s the Story of My Life I really didn’t know what the hell I was signing myself up for. I ended up writing my own story inspired by local literature (#buysinglit) and standing in a random corner of Little India on my own, telling the story I wrote (in character) to groups of ticketed audience members as well as curious onlookers, learning to think on my feet as I responded to whatever the audience threw at me in this immersive and interactive performance. .
