Just wanted to post this early trailer version of JASMINE, directed by Dax Phelan. Looks really great, and has an awesome soundtrack with it. I can't wait to see the film which stars my friend Jason Tobin as well as Byron Mann.

Exciting news for DragonHorseFilms!! This is a great team doing independent films with focus on stories in Asia not often brought to light. They focus on producing low-budget feature length films with high production values and the films are primarily in the English language, although story themes incorporate diverse Asian cultures. I was happy to be involved with their first feature film!!

Today I worked with a team of production people that flew into HK to film a commercial spot for a European energy drink. The director Antoine Manceaux flew in from NYC, the DOP Sven Siegrist from Berlin, and I had to ask how that happened. The client had seen Antoine's NYC messenger biker clip online (below) and wanted to make their commercial spot with the same sort of action. I've been inspired by a US headshot photographer to organize all my headshot work in one place. Peter Hurley is a photographer who travels between his studios in NYC, LA, and Dallas and also leads a series of workshops on headshot photography. What I noticed is that I have been doing similar sort of work as he does, close crops with white backgrounds. He has a different lighting set up, so his work looks brighter and more distinct. Had a meeting today about a project, did a few versions of VO for the project. As we were talking, asked about an introduction I had made a year ago of my friend Katie to this production house. Turns out they did this music video together!!
And interesting version of a classic song, Katie plays the Celtic harp and sings as well. She does many jobs on the mainland performing with her harp and singing in Mandarin.

Another great moment for a friend, who I met here in HK and will see in NYC. Ian graduated from the HKAPA and has moved on to NYU for the graduate composers program in NYC. His original piece Cité en l'airwill be performed along side David Byrne's (of the Talking Heads) new work The Forest. Can't wait to hear Ian's work performed by orchestra, so far I've only heard his works online. I'll still be in the city to attend!!

I'm so happy I'll be in NYC with a bit of work, a bit of visit, and what great timing to be there. I will be finally able to see my friend Marcelo's choreography live on stage. This is a clip from a rehearsal in Sept 2011 of his new piece, and showcases Guillaume Cote who wrote and performed the music.
This is just so inspiring that I had to share. Enjoy!!

When it rains it pours, and I'm happy for that. Just finishing a sold-out week long run of Hamlet at the Fringe today with two performances. I'll be sad to say goodbye to Gertrude, the role I play to a very excellent Hamlet played by Oliver Williams.
