  • A two-months acting class with Eric Forestier

    Friday, Jul 10, 2009 10:37PM / Standard Entry / Drama Queen

During May and June, I took a 9hrs per week acting  class with Eric Forestier who is a young French Director. From the start, I knew I was going to like the man's method cause he asked us to read three challenging books before the class begins: two novels -Crime and Punishment from Dostoevsky and Moderato Cantabile from Marguerite Duras - as well as a Lars Noren’s play.

At the beginning of each class, two or three students had a casting trial and then different crews recorded scenes extracted from one of the books. I worked mainly on two scenes, one from Duras, one from Dostoevsky as well a monologue from Eyes wide Shuts. I had also the opportunity to direct a monologue by myself and realizing that I actually helped this student to improve his acting ability made me proud. That was an amazing class where I did learn a lot under Eric's supervision and got a better understanding of how to behave in front of the camera's eyes.

The first feature of Eric Forestier "The Third Part of the World” was released in June 2008 and stars famous French actors such as Gaspard Ulliel and Clemence Poesy (Harry potter, In Bruges). Below an extract but in French, sorry.

  • Sexy Jewelry !

    Wednesday, Jul 8, 2009 8:51PM / Standard Entry / Sexy Jewelry

Ok ok ok ...this not arts related but this is still Inspiring, isn’t ladies?

Here a review of my latest sexy jewelry acquisitions. A gorgeous big flower-shaped silver ring from Morocco with an amethyst and a real pearl as well as some other semi-precious stones. A very good bargain as I negotiated the prices together with three lamps in a nice furniture shop. I so love ethnic jewelry...Wherever I travel, I always treat myself with a "jewelry souvenir".

And then, on my way to Colette to check out the book, I found this shop I had never heard of,"Bimba & Lola", (pls check out their oh so cute/ vintage design / yet trendy website) a spanish brand, someone ever heard of them ? They have super stylish handbags, scarfs, shoes and jewelry. Everything was on sales so I got two bracelets (one woman actually tried to steal me one !) at a  low-end price which is kind of surprising in that posh part of Paris !!!

  • My book sold at Super Trendy Parisian Store "Colette"

    Wednesday, Jul 8, 2009 5:54AM / Standard Entry / writing

Great news today, as I just learnt that "Rose 31 et autres nouvelles", the book which includes my short story "L'enveloppe rouge" is now sold at Colette. Rose 31 being actually the name of a perfume from the brand  "Lab" they sell it at a perfume stand. Glamorous !
Colette has been for more than one decade the trendiest concept store in Paris. I am not sure what would be the equivalent in HK, maybe Lane Crawford or Joyce would be the nearer thing.
    I'm kinda proud ;-)
