Los Angeles VC Film Festival Wrap Up : ) (Taken from FTG's MySpace)

Well, our Journey continues. We started out at Sundance in January, then San Francisco, then Chicago, then Oregon...and NOW...LOS ANGELES! For most of us, LA is our home. It was a great time for all the cast, crew, and family to get together, catch up, and celebrate with a little FINISHING THE GAME. We were the Opening Night film of the Visual Communications Film Festival and IT WAS CRAZY. Our screening was so oversold that the DGA had to open up another theatre to accommodate. Almost 1,000 people attended (it looked like the grand opening of a Wal Mart in Shanghai).

It's been 6 years since we first premiered the trailer of BLT at the VC Film Fest. So coming back in 2007 is very much like a home-coming. Tickets were so scarce that most of the FTG people forfeited their tickets to other viewers in the rush line. So while the movie ran, a horde of us went across the street to the Baja Fresh to indulge in some healthy Mexican food. Kind of a bad move because most of us had lots of Heineken right before (heck, they sponsored the event and handed the stuff out like water). End result... Mexican + beer = one very smell Q&A.

Some cool highlights of the evening... 1) I shook Ron Jeremy's hand (yes, the adult film star...who is an actor in FTG). I have yet to wash it. 2) Got to see Brian Tee's pimped out Chrysler 300C for my first time. Trust me, when you have a suede roof in your car and 21 inch chrome rims, it's worth talking a look. Being in FF3 has it's bonuses. 3) Sung just showed up in jeans and a white T shirt. But for some reason, it works as black tie formal. How does he do it? 4) I discovered that the Angry Asian Man is married. Fool us no more, you will not Phil! 5) Dustin Nguyen's Angela got to see FTG for the first time. Now Dustin has to permanently perm his hair to look like Farrah Fawcet. 6) Sharon Dang created a Dustin Nguyen FTG T Shirt. Yo Sharon...why no Sung or McCaleb or Roger? No love, baby, no love. 7) I discovered that if you close your eyes while watching FTG, you can't tell the ethnicity of people who are laughing. Which proves the theory that laughter is a universal language.

There were many other things that happened opening night. But if I were to describe most of them, the moderator of MySpace would delete this profile very quickly. So, we'll just sneak around that technicality and post the crazy via pictures/video...we just posted a cool video of our VC Opening Night (courtesy of Asian Pacific Arts). Check it out!
