In 2003, I stumbled into acting after almost 8 years working in the technical line. I say 'stumbled' because I was actually auditioning to be a singer back then. It's kind of a long story...
Though I had no training or prior experience, I got hooked on acting and I decided that's what I really wanted to do.
I was more than a little overweight at first (and for the most part of my life prior). To make myself visually more versatile, and appealing, I started an exercise-cum-diet regime and managed to shed 9.6 kg in 28 days. Losing weight and keeping it off, in itself, isn't really something to brag about.But, I'd like to think it says a little something about me and my attitude towards my goals...
Til date, I've done my share of short-films, corporate videos, and support roles on local TV and movies. Also, there's the occasional 'live' skits, photo shoots and corporate role-play.
I'm not a pretty-face so I'd like to believe that I've got character instead. I'm looking to test my limits as an actor and not play stereotypical roles all the time. Good roles in Singapore are hard to come by, more so for freelancers like myself. Still, I have walked this path for 6 years now and if the gods are willing, I shall continue to do so....
As for singing I sang the opening number, and then some, in the musical 'Tunnel Through Time'. And I was a soloist in Sound Wave 2006 - the People's Association's annual concert. Singing has been and will always be one of my biggest passions.
I've been married to my wife for a little over 10 years now. We have a lovely 7-year-old girl （谢甜） who is my pride and my joy. To quote Jack Nicolson in 'As Good As It Gets', she makes me wanna be a better man.
