Hi all,

e.v.e.n.t is hosting its 5th artist's speak up! in HK this Wednesday night!!

If you have still not experienced a slice of the arts and a night in HK to EXPRESS your ideas , listen and watch wonderful artists , PROMOTE any up and coming events, acts , launches or parties OR just to NETWORK with like minded people...then get down to Philia lounge this Wednesday night.

THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT:

We have a great line up! Some surprise performances so Get yourselves down to Philia lounge this Wednesday night and Speak up!

The line up :

8pm-9pm DJ Constant Lee

9pm- Chilled out acoustic set by "guy and a girl"

930pm-open mic

940pm- CB Fresh "Once in a lifetime sneak peek"

10pm-Kai on the Trumpet and DJ Re- Flex

1030pm-music performance by Heidi Mak

We will also be actioning off mannequins designed by local artists.

Hi guys,

So far E.V.E.N.T has presented one major event " Sensory Runway", 4 Speak ups! ( Where artists have a voice and showcase and promote their work), and have supported several other events.

We are planning a few major event and host an exciting night out called " Speak up!" on the first Wednesday of every month. The next one will be Wednesday,October 1st. Speak up! is a great night to network, promote and BE SEEN.

We also have a facebook group and would love your support. Please join the group and we will always keep you informed on up and coming events and artist's. Also this is where we will post any news about live gigs for artist's if you would like to be showcased!

SPEAK UP! this Wednesday night.

E.V.E.N.T presents Hong Kongs Official artists meetup " Speakup! ".

Once again, EVENT is hosting SPEAK UP! Wednesday, Spetmeber 3, 2008 at Philia Lounge (www.philialounge.com) in Central. Each month, more and more artists have been getting involved in an attempt to promote themselves and expand the industry in Hong Kong. Find out what everyones been talking about!

Similar to the Alive Not Dead online community where artists can chat amongst themselves via the Internet, SPEAK UP! allows artists to do this in a LIVE forum, face to face. Workshop ideas, dance, sing, jam and collaborate ideas for future artists events with like-minded people. We are encouraging artists to present any new works they may be doing, and will be having a couple of performances just to get the juices flowing.

Sensory Runway Credits & Photos.

Dear all,

Firstly, we want to say a huge thank you to you all for making Sensory Runway a huge success. The night was absolutely amazing and would not have been that way with out all of you! Roger, Paul and I created a vision some months back now and you all made that vision real. I am still recovering from endless nights of not sleeping and I don't think I actually relaxed on the night until the party started at 11pm.

Although E.V.E.N.T didn't make any money nor did we make what we spent, we did make a successful show for artists and gained significant amount of respect from the community. We have learned some valuable lessons and have proven to ourselves and others that we can do this, so imagine what can be achieved with sponsorship!

Thanks to all of you that had trust in us; that believed this was possible. Thank you to those of you that understood that this was our very first event and that we were doing it on our own. To those of you that gave up precious time and shared your love and passion for the arts.We love you!!

To all the designers, well done! It was so great to see all your designs together in one show. Your individuality came through and kept the show lively upbeat and dynamic. You should all feel very proud. E.V.E.N.T has had a few emails asking us about you guys and that they want you involved in new projects. This is so exciting as this was our objective for you all! We will be in touch with you individually about requests. Thank you!

Hope you are well. As most of you may know E.V.E.N.T is presenting "Sensory Runway" tomorrow night hosted by TVB actor Brian Burrell.

DETAILS :

SENSORY Runway, is a Fashion/Dance/Art show, that will be showcasing the work of 6 local fashion designers, Capoeira, break-dance and hip hop dancers. The idea is to indulge the five senses while catering to a specific theme; this month, fashion. The goal is to change the face of the conventional fashion show, by not only offering a catwalk but also incorporating dancers and performers that allow for more viewer interaction.

7pm - 9pm General Public Entry
(including Media and VIP). At 9pm, the fashion show starts. 10pm the Party begins.

The six Fashion Designers that we will be showcasing are :
Kanchan Couture
Mischa Designs
Axis watches
One Man Stand
Gio Chiappetta
and Anniewho

The Dance groups are :
Rebellious Troop
Equipe Jo Capoeira
Beribazu

The two featured D.Js will be D.J Dave Webber (AUS)
and D.J Forest (HETEROgENIUS), with guest appearance by MC Pastelle.

Just added to the night! 7 local Hong Kong artists will be showcasing their works to be auctioned off on the night. Don't miss out on these never before seen pieces!
