Night 5 (Update)
So last night, after I wrote my entry, I went against my own advice and tried the rubber band again. When I was young, I was a very talented rubber band shooter but that was with the fat rubber bands. I turned the house upside down but couldn't find a "fatty" but did manage to find some thin ones that are nice and elastic (for those of you who live in HK or other tropical climates, you'll know that rubber bands become brittle and useless very quickly so it's not always easy to find an "elastic" elastic).

Anyway, I got within 18 inches of DK and BAM -- I thought I got him good but then I could hear him scurry away. A search of the immediate area did not turn up a roach corpse, which means that DK is still out there -- probably hungrier and angrier than before. Needless to say, I didn't sleep well again last night, with thoughts of roach revenge swirling around in my brain.

It's possible I dealt DK a fatal blow and that he is slowly dying behind the washer/dryer. That would be anti-climatic and disgusting to say the least. It's impossible to get back there, which means he'll be there until the end of time...or until other roaches (please, I hope there are no more) eat him up.

But more likely, I will see him again tonight. I want to get him BAD so that I can take a photo for you guys...

OMG! *gasp!* No sticky traps?! I'll totally send you one if you can't get 'em in HK. Seriously.

MissScarlett -- I laughed so hard at your comment I almost peed my pants! Great idea! I don't know if they sell glue traps here in HK. I know they have those bait traps that poison (the roach and her offspring) but it'd be much better if I get a trophy out of this.

I'm going to the hardware store tomorrow to have a look! (Pics of course if I succeed!)

Mayhaps it is time to get DK a nice roach motel. You know, those nice, clean little boxes with wonderful smelling (to roaches) bait inside and all the sticky stuff on the walls ::evil grin:: Once DK dies a horrible, sticky death, you can open the box out flat and hang it on a wall like a stuffed tiger head. Hail the conquering hero!

Desmond (蘇頌輝) is a host of TVB Pearl's lifestyle and luxury-living show Dolce Vita. He is also an English and Cantonese speaking events and show emcee.

Desmond now stands in front of the camera after having worked behind it for three years at ABC, Inc. in New York. There, he worked on shows such as The View, The Bachelor, All My Children, and Miss America. While living in New York, Desmond was also involved with Second Generation, a non-profit theater company devoted to bringing Asian American stories to the world's stage.

In addition to his TV and emcee work, Desmond is also an etiquette consultant who helps individuals and companies build confidence through the practice of etiquette (www.njtrf.com). A die-hard fan of those who are polite and well-mannered, he believes that you can never say "please" and "thank you" too many times.

A native of Hong Kong who has been away most of his life, Desmond is glad to be back and part of the 'alive not dead' community.
