It took 30 hours of flights, layovers and taxis, but I finally arrived in Kampala, Uganda.  My journey looked like something out of an Indiana Jones film; I had to fly from Hong Kong to Bangkok, then to Dubai, hang out in that airport for six hours, then fly onward to Kenya, hang out some more and finally I got to the airport in Entebi where I was picked up by Moses and driven about an hour to Kampala.  That's the longest I've ever spent getting somewhere that wasn't a drive across country.

On first glance, I think I'm going to love Uganda.  The people are quite friendly and helpful.  The guest house, on the other hand, has a mattress about as firm as sponge cake and no hot water for showers; that's a great way to wake up in the morning without coffee though.

Although I will be posting up some pictures later this week, for now I am unable.  I'll have access to better computer in a few days.  This morning, the first order of business was a short drive to the Baha'i House of Worship.  The temple sits on about 40 acres of lush green gardens on top of a hill, providing a commanding view of the surrounding city.  I took a few photos, but I'll go back and shoot some video in a few days.  Other than that, we visited the Kasubi Tombs (burial site for the last four kings) and dropped in on an orphanage where Morgan, my new friend,  is going to volunteer for a month.  The kids immediately wanted to play and be held.  Two of them sat on my feet and kept unlacing my shoes while demanding that I walk with them on my feet.  So cute.

That's it for now.  I'll keep you posted as I start filming and I'll find a way soon to share photos with you.  Unless you would rather not see pictures.
