This kind of architecture and towers/spires in the west always had a "reaching for the heavens" element. But this picture definitely illustrates the futility of that human gesture. Just look at those mountains.

I like esp. the two children in the field, the wall showing exposed brick and the shot of the field looking like patchwork. Thanks. My teacher Chris Choy shot a documentary about girls in Sparrow Village, Guizhou. Would love to see it one day.
