    Alright, so I'm dredging up some history.  These are images taken in Japan from 1997-1999.  I would love to go back to Japan and spend time shooting there, but for now I'm focused on China.  Most of the images are from around Kurume in Fukuoka-ken on Kushu island.

    Ko wai te tekoteko....
    ok wrong language and culture but it does remind me of Tekoteko on top of a wharenui (Maori meeting house)

    I got off one shot at the start of the show before an usher told me to put my camera away.  I wanted to capture the motion of the drumming, so I was grateful the one shot worked.

    I don't actually know the name of the forest, but it was about a 30 minute drive outside of Kurume.
