Chloé Wang 汪可盈 is teenage singing phenomenon hailing from Chicago, U.S.A. Currently living in Beijing, Chloé is busy studying mandarin and working on her singing career. Chloé was born to a Chinese father and an American mother; she was born and raised in America but have always been interested in learning about her Chinese roots. Chloé’s grandmother left Shanghai for America in 1957, and worked as the Head of International Fashion for the New York Times. Her curiosity and passion to learn about her Chinese heritage led her to China, where she is determined to start her music career.
Managed by Nettwerk Music Group (Avril Lavigne, Sum 41, Dido, and Sarah McLachlan), and Archangel East Productions, she is working with talented producers from U.S. and Europe, who are the creative force behind the likes of Britney Spears, Madonna, Celine Dion, Hannah Montana, Kumi Koda, Tojo Shinki and Dong Bang Shin Ki (TVXQ).
Archangel East Productions, led by Peter Coquillard has worked on producing songs for China’s favorite Super Girl, Li Yu Chun (李宇春)’s second album “Mine”, with hits like “Floating on Subway ” (飘浮地铁) which won the Beijing Pop Music Festival’s Golden Song award.
Renowned Chinese music producer Zhang Ya Dong (张亚东) is co-producing Chloé’s very first single “Uh Oh” which she sings in both English and Mandarin. Chloé is releasing her first music video “Uh Oh”, directed by Jonathan Lim of Crimson Forest Films (Slam: the Movie) in both Mandarin and English. The music video premiered on BTTV mid April, along with her live performance at Zebra Music Festival on May 1-3rd, 2009 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, a charity concert for the anniversary of the Sichuan Earthquake which left 5 million people homeless.
Chloé lives in a modern day family with her parents, six brothers, (biological, adopted, and fostered), and 3 dogs. She attended Montessori School where she grew up acting, singing, dancing on stage and playing the saxophone. At the age of 13, she became part of the Second City Youth Ensemble (Tina Fey, Mike Myers are past members) touring and performing improvisational comedy with other funny kids. She is launching her first single “Uh Oh”, in mandarin for the Chinese market this summer. Her song is available for free download legally on Google China’s music site: Top100.cn.
