Underground 57 @ The Cavern

WARNING!!! WARNING!!! TYPHOON ALERT!!! WARNING!!!

Notes from a Gwailo:-

19/4 I was greeted this morning by the howling wind and the unrelentless rain. Something wasn't quite right with the weather, I thought. It probably sounds very strange, but I have always been looking forward to a full blown typhoon since I started living in Hong Kong. But, in the two, almost three years that I have been in Hong Kong there hasn't been a typhoon number 8 signal hoisted. The only time there was one of this magnitude I was I was back in Australia for a holiday. Doh! I don't what it is, maybe it's because I know I don't have to go to work if there is one. Or so I can tell all my friends from Oz that I have experienced one, and I wasn't scared.

But, this was a Saturday and I didn't need to go to work anyway. And I had a show on tonight. I knew if it kept this up there wouldn't be anyone there and more so, the show could even be cancelled. I later found out that the show would go on even if it got to number 8. The intensity of the typhoon didn't increase, but the rain warning went from yellow to red. Oooo! People were definately not coming now. But the show must go on! right?

I arrived at the Cavern starting to rethink my decision of wearing pants instead of shorts. My pants were soaked from the knees down. It seems that the other members of FBI shared a similar fate; their clothes and equipment also taking a beating from the weather. So much so, that Archvictor's lead got wet and began to play up during the show. Thanks to Senseless we were able to borrow another lead and continue the show without anymore hiccups. I guess they are not senseless afterall. haha!

Despite the rain, there were still some people who were able to brave the rain and come out to enjoy the show! Thankyou for your dedication! And if you didn't come, I don't blame you. If it were me I would have stayed home for sure. Noone likes the rain. I prefer to stay inside and cuddle up on the sofa to watch a movie. That is what rainy days are for!

We decided to experiment this night and really go a little bit mental. Jumping from this stage to the other stage. We thought we might as well have fun and enjoy ourselves by putting on a really good show for the people who came. Hope they enjoyed it! My highlight of the night was when I jump from one stage to another and I do a scissor kick in the air before the last chorus of The Masquerade. While in the air I thought that this wasn't actually a good idea and maybe I was going to stack it (fall over) and hurt myself. To my amazement I landed on the stage perfectly and didn't miss a beat of the song. Unfortunately, the person holding the camera was concentrated on Jerald at the time, so missed out on it.

As you can tell, we really enjoyed playing at the Cavern and it is a shame that there wasn't more people to see it. We even managed to coax some people into coming onto the dancefloor to jump up and down to our theme song at the end. Had we not been as active during the night, and if we played like we didn't want to be there, noone would have supported us. But that is why we are FBI. We are going to give it our all every single time. No matter what the situation, we are going to play to the best of our ability. Each show is more experience for us, and we want to continue becoming better musicians so that we can entertain you! Wow! I really waffle on sometimes... why don't you just take a look at the videos to see the craziness of FBI.

Sidenote: Totally pissed me off when the rain stopped after our set. Why didn't it stop an hour earlier$#@%! Highlights of the night were... Senseless and their song about Streetighter. Henry Chung's hilarious lyrics about going out with a jewish woman and The Train; chinese Green day?**Ghouls and Ghosts (original)
