A different view of China indeed. I saw lots of amazing beauty when I visited briefly in 1999. Part of the tour was a visit to a Cloissene (sp?) factory, showing us the stages of making the beautiful glazed mosaic items. It was incredible to think people were actually doing their jobs as hordes of tourists walked by. I work in an open office that's rather crowded. I've learned to block out noise but this was on another level altogether, with some tourists actually looking over their shoulder as they worked. Anyway, that's what some of your pictures reminded me of & they capture a moment of time in a very special way imo. Thanks for sharing them.

I love how you've captured everyday life in China - ordinary people. Sometimes I become caught up in the ideals expressed in the media that I see, that I forget that isn't the reality.
