Spring Festival and other topics

Thought I would start with other things first.......I want to applaud Edison Chen's decision and apologies.....it's the right thing to do....you need to fess up when you goof and hurt people......and then take the consequences.  Something Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens needs to do too......when you are a major icon in your industry or live off the entertainment industry you need to be responsible.  While you may not want to be an example for  youth, the position you hold in your industry is because of what you do and who you are.  Sorry, Charles Barkley, but you cannot escape your role......it doesn't matter if you never intended to be a model for youth everyone is looking on!  Hopefully, Edison has learned keep his  sex life to himself...and don't think he doesn't have a bullseye on his chest ( from his songs I know he does),  but for a moment he forgot who he was.....people are always looking for a weakness.....and will exploit it for their own profit.  This though reflects strongly on the state of affairs in society.......often people think they can do whatever they wish and it has no consequences.  When, we forget that fact,  the universe will bite us back.  One funny story, one of my students was asked by a women to help jumpstart her car....but he was eating lunch in his car and he didn't want to be interrupted.....so he refused.  She was lucky eventually finding someone to help her.  Often the universe doesn't reciprocate quite this fast.....but when the  student got ready to go, he tried to start his car..........his battery died!!  He took another couple of hours before he could find someone to help him........he said he won't make that mistake again.........the Taoist call that the Law of Karma!!

Well this Saturday is the end of the CNY Celebration in Chinatown......so the parade will be happening......tho the weather does not seem to want to cooperate........but we can always hope for the best.  Our SF Wushu Team will be performing on Sat to kick off the days activities.....we will be at the Hilton Hotel in Chinatown at 12pm with the Lions crossing from Portsmouth Square to the Hotel.  Then at 1:30pm we will be performing at the Spring Festival Celebration inside.....everything is free!  So if you are in the area drop by and celebrate with us.  We will also perform on sunday...but starting time will be 12pm.....and we will be again performing on stage.  Again best wishes,good health, and peace...........enjoy the Spring Fest!!
