Hunt for gold continues

After Phelps.......................there is still more to come.........Guo Jingjing........China's  Diving Queen won her last gold Medal in the 3m diving.........her partner in the synchronize diving Wu Minxia got the bronze........Guo has devoted 12 years of her life to diving and wants to retire........she is one of China's most recognized women athletes....and is an advertising machine for all kinds of products in China.......................also very kool Jamaica is now home of the fastest humans on earth as the Women swept the 100m event........in Gymnastics Shawn Johnson won a silver in the floor excercise,and her roomate Nastia Liukin the bronze........Dara Torres 41 years young....took the silver in the 50m................the women next to her winning the bronze was 25 years her junior........she had previuosly swam in the 100m medley relay....and swam the fastest split ever......but they lost to the powerful Australian team........the US Women also held off the Romanians and Great Britain to win a Gold Medal in crewing...........Jiayo!!

After some investigation........it turns out from what I can tell the whole issue about the age of China's Gymnast....is all bogus ........these were the comments of Bela Karolyi and his wife.......the US Gymnastic Federation has already issued a statement that his comments are his own and do not represent the position of the US Federation..........he has no proof..........the one internet site that reported this......their comments were about another athlete not the ones competing.....the site subsequently removed the article...........finally some news articles have reported that Bela is actually ticked off because the US Gymnastic Federation will not allow him to field younger athletes......people forget that  Nadia Comenichi w̐as his athlete and she competed in the Olympics when she was only 14 years old......... further the passports issued certified that the athletes are all 16............of course that can be doctored......though China knows what the rules are and would not want their victory to be tainted...........they want to show they are the best fair and square.................The best reply to this story came from Shawn Johnson who said......the Chinese were better than we were, so they won .............also there are several other women in the Olympics who look like kids.......weighing less than 80 pounds and under 5 feet tall................it's not about size but about how they compete.........one also forgets age is not the deciding factor, but when you reach puberty......often Chinese Women Athletes don't reach puberty until  they are 18.......so tend to look younger and smaller despite of their age...................while in America the average age pf girls reaching puberty is 12 yrs old....that does make a difference.......it's all those Big Macs we eat.......lots of animal hormones!!

Sandra Izbasa from Romania  went last in the Floor Excercise and did a perfect routine to take the gold from American Shawn Johnson.

Dara Torres....known as Mom......wins the silver medal in the 50m freestyle.....continues to inspire........her goal to be able to win a medal at 50!!

Rafael Nadal of Spain defeated Gonzales..to win the gold...........in what must be said to be one of the best matches of Tennis ever played.......the audiences were enthralled by the volleys.....as the ball was hit to every corner of the court and Nadal was constantly under pressure before he finally won.

Guo Jingjing in her last dive hit her highest scores for the evening winning the Gold Medal and retiring from competition at the same time.

Jamacian Women swept all three places in the 100m sprint....now the home of the fastest men and women on earth........!

China also claimed Gold in the Men's Individual floor routine.......with both Russia and Romania making major mistakes.....Zou Kai snuck by them to win the Gold medal.

The pommel horse has proved to be the Achilles Heel of every gymnastic team at this Olympics....Xiao Qin howe ver makes it look easy as he claims the Gold.

Hong Un-jong of Korea wins the gold medal in the vault.

Finally, I have a thought for the SF Giants and the Oakland A's........from the Olympics you can see how important it is to have a winning attitude....it's infectious and pushes you to do your best........so you wonder what do Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain learn from playing on the Giants................maybe,you hate to be on a cheap ass loosing team.........you just learn to loose.........and the A's.......you learn if you are good you will just be trade bait......................both are only good at saving money and loosing........................if you don't surround your good talent with equal talent all you have is disaster..................yes it is about competition, but it's no fun if you are playing with a deck stacked against you....though is the Bay Area it's more like playing with all the court cards missing!!
