4Days....and Wushu Found

Four Days to the Games.  Finally today IWUF made announcements about where, and when the Wushu Tournament will be held.  It was announced that the Beijing Wushu tournament will be held on Aug 21-24 at he Olympics Sports Center Gymnasium in Beijing.  Though at this time they don't have a place for the athletes to stay.....and of course currently they will not be part of the opening ceremonies......maybe closing??   There are 128 athletes competing for 10 Gold Medals in Taolu, and 5 gold Medals in Sanshou...and of course these will not count as Olympic Medals.

IWUF Officials making announcements about Beijing wushucompetitions. Press conference followed with a wushu performance. Would have been great if this was a real Olympic event!!Seems like the event is somewhat disorganized........but I am happy something was finally announced.........there's lots of people wondering what was going on.   From what I understood there will be some Wushu during the Olympic's Opening Ceremony..........during the Asian Games it was 24 Taiji....so I expect some big group demonstration...........just too bad the athletes competing in the Beijing Wushu Tournament will not get a chance to be a part of this event.........but IWUF said during the press conference these are two separate events.....and is occurring because the IOC has allowed this to occur....but wushu is not a demonstration event......booo.........

But on another note on my way thru the Japantown Peace Plaza .......surprise(!!).........I found JCYC Summer youth program practicing Yang Style Taiji with Sifu Don Gee.....................jiayo Don....good job.........wushu will continue despite the disorganization.....in the end , the most important thing that wushu can do for everyone...............is that it can change people's lives and improve their physical and mental being!!
