Announcing 2012 Judges!

Juno Mak

As a pop singer, fashion ambassador and movie actor, writer and director, Juno Mak Chun-lung has led a highly diversified career since he entered the entertainment business in 2002.

After making his acting debut in director Pang Ho-cheung’s ensemble comedy TRIVIAL MATTERS in 2007, Mak was happily drenched in fake blood for the filmmaker’s follow-up effort, the controversial gorefest DREAM HOME, in which Mak played a brutalized policeman.  REVENGE: A LOVE STORY scored an acting award for Mak at Asia's largest genre film festival - the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival - and LET’S GO! marked the first production of Kudos Films Limited, the company that Mak set up with producer Willie Chan in 2011.

Mak’s upcoming film and directorial debut, RIGOR MORTIS, will be a modern-day homage to the jiang shi genre, an immensely popular sub-genre of Hong Kong horror comedies.

James Marsh

Based in Hong Kong, James is Asian Editor for Twitchfilm.com and a freelance film critic, with a particular focus on New Asian Cinema and genre films from around the world. He is a programmer for Fantastic Fest, and a co-founder of Hong Kong Alt Screenings and Sci-Fi Sundays. When not attending film festivals, watching films, writing about films, or shopping online for Blu-rays, James is most likely out on the town, drinking beer and hogging the karaoke mic.

Alvin Tse

Alvin Tse, worked at Television Broadcast Limited, Oriental Press Group and Film Workshop from 2003 -2005. He is currently the Assistant Programme Manager of the Hong Kong International Film Festival, overseeing the short films, animations and youth programmes.
