GNOME.Asia 2013, Seoul – My Report

After GNOME.Asia 2012 hosted in Hong Kong, I was invited to join GNOME Asia committee, and started works with other members to call for host of 2013 summit in the committee.

After reading proposals and reference websites from potential hosts, I voted Seoul as host of GNOME.Asia Summit 2013, because I found that they run a good local GNOME community with monthly user meetups. It is great for us to bring GNOME developers and topics to Seoul, and meet their local GNOME community. And we can know more about their community as well.

After Seoul is selected as 2013 host, we started to work with Seoul team to organize the summit with weekly meetings. Since I was late to submit my topic, so besides my role as a Asia committee member attending the summit, I also presented 2 lightning talks.

In day 1, I presented IBus Chinese input methods for HongKongers – Problem, Solution, Future. And in day 2, I introduced COSCUP – the largest open source conference in Taiwan.

And I took some photos during the summit and uploaded to my facebook and flickr.

This blog post is extracted from some content on my post conference report in emails submitted to travel committee last year.
