I was contemplating whether to do the No Doubt Gwen Stefani or her current Sweet Escape Gwen Stefani look for this Halloween. I typically love her No Doubt look more, but I know it was hard to achieve her big swirl hairdo. At first, I was planning on getting a blond wig and hairspray the bangs to make that swirl of hers, but it's not easy playing with the wig. Later, I decided to do her platinum bob hairdo by buying a platinum bob. Luckily, they sold it, but I didn't like it because it didn't fit right..The length was longer...Read more
Okay, it's been a while since I blogged. The new feature thingymajig is reminding me to blog. What have I been up to? Well, I've been cooking up some shabu shabu (Japanese hot pot.) Man, I have to give myself a pat on the back. It's exactly like the ones at this local shabu house here. I got the marbled beef and pork slices, fried age balls and cakes, fish sticks, napa cabbages, vermicelli, Japanese rice, and all the other good stuff. The secret to this meal is the sesame sauce and i perfected that as well. When I get the chance, ...Read more

I purposely ordered some extra yellow bean bun, well, that's what they're called here. I'm sure most of you will recognize this dessert at dim sum.

We slept in on Sunday cos we stayed up late the previous night watching "Blades of Glory" at the hotel. The freaking movie was hilarious!! We strolled along the Embaracadero, enjoying the beautiful weather and naked guys skating. Had lunch at the most talked about Vietnamese restaurant, The Slanted Door, inside the Ferry Building Marketplace. I don't know why, but I keep associating slanted door with slanted eyes. It's just weird to me. I guess it's because the restaurant is ...Read more
On Friday, Lou suggested that we meet up at Cafe Bistro inside the top floor of Nordstrom. I ordered a grilled shrimp and asparagus risotto dish. hubby had crab cakes, Lou had a chicken dish, and Peachey had a club sandwich. We chatted for about 2.5 hours and took pictures.

Visited Napa, CA on a Saturday. The first stop was Copia (The American Center for Wine Food and the Arts.) This place offers wine and cooking classes, a wine museum, wine tasting, cafe, and live music. The property wasn't too big, but they have this edible garden that included everything from Italian herbs, to fruits, veggies, and flowers. People actually picked the fruits there and consumed it on the spot, but I didn't.
