  • HUNGER GAMES

    Friday, Apr 13, 2012 2:37PM / Members only

Oh dear!!! My current obsession is with the Hunger Games....and Jennifer Lawrence!

Such a wrong time to be obsessed with something...I finished the three books in a week (tried to slow down so I can slowly enjoy it) ahh and watched a million of interviews with Lawrence. Wow! She's totally a down-to-earth, funny, amazing person. She just seems so honest with all her answers and totally cool about everything!! I'm starting to like Josh Hutcherson too. he's really cute actually. He seems like an amazing person as well. AHHHH obsessed. i'm gonna watch all Jennifer's films now.

WOO summer goal~~~ :D that should be easy she doesn't have much films out :)

    - Hunger Games DONE
    - X-men First Class DONE
note: i actually didn't know she was in that movie till recent. lol.
    - The Beaver
    - Like Crazy
    - Winter's Bone
    - Burning Pain

and not gonna watch the others since she has such a minor role in those. BUT! I'll watch the others for sure ^^ can't wait.

okay i really need to get back to studying. but typing this should allow me to concentrate a bit more..i hope...

  • 2012!

    Sunday, Feb 5, 2012 4:43PM / Members only

    Hello Everyone,

It's been awhile. Finally entered the month of February...and a lot of great things are about to happen during this month! I shall list them allll out!

    1) Feb 9th - David Choi in Vancouver!
Well well well!! It's my third time to see David! Super exciteddddd! Finally watching his show for the first time though! First time I wasn't old enough to enter the venue. 2nd time was in Hong Kong when he just had a mini showcase...which wasn't long enough at all!! But I was thankful that I finally get to hear him live. And finally this time! He will be performing at the Rio Theatre, hopefully I can take another photo with him!!!

    2) Feb 10th-11 - Kary Ng in Vancouver!
Oh dear, right after David Choi is Kary Ng! Never saw her before in person! (I might have...at CDNIS when I had no idea who she was...) BUT! She'll be coming over to Vancouver this weekend to be a guest star at the CSA singing contest. She'll be holding an autograph session on the 10th around Richmond and on the 11th is the contest. I'll be going with Andrea and I've already bought tickets for it. Super excited about that too! The tickets were around 48.50..including tax and everything. Quite expensive I would say but I'd rather sit a bit closer so at least I can see what's going on rather than sitting super far at the balcony seeing barely anything. I don't have anything in mind of what I could get Kary to sign! I left her albums in Hong Kong, since I had no idea that she would be coming, and signing on a piece of paper is lame...so.....i'll think about it!

    3) Feb 18-26 - Going Back to Hong Kong!
It seems very "kwa cheung" to just go back to Hong Kong just for a week, but I have nothing to do here in Vancouver anyway for a week so why not make full use of the time? Last year I literally did nothing during the reading break, didn't work hard nor did I play hard. The jetlag would probably be crazy during that week but oh well! Totally worth it!!

February had been a great month so far, my midterms are going well so far, and work is going smoothly. Didn't have trouble finishing up my counseling psychology homework, though I'm not sure if I'm on track or not..so probably have to double check and edit tomorrow. My psychology midterm went well, got a grade that made me feel very happy and satisfied and I strive to work harder in the 2nd midterm! Gogogo! I also just found out my exam schedule for April. Psych final on the 18th, while film is on the 20th. Not bad this term! Finally get to leave a bit earlier compared to other people...so haha

On the way to these wonderful events is a whole bunch of assignments and midterms, but I'll survive and make my way through it!

Anyway, it's almost 1am, I should start getting ready for bed. Long day tomorrow!

    Cya!

  • Summer 2011

    Thursday, Jun 30, 2011 3:50AM / Members only

    Hi,

I tend to update my blog at the weirdest times. Usually when I feel lost and hopeless. It's 3:38am in Hong Kong right now. Just received an email from UBC saying that I can register for my courses soon. Geez...I'm currently really stressed out about choosing which courses, and what to major in. Lots of tiny issues that I don't even know how to explain. I really hope I can get my schedule all done soon so I wouldn't have to worry about it.

Anyway, let's put that aside and just let me update on what's been happening so far! First of all, I got back to Hong Kong on May 1st, just a day after my 19th birthday. Speaking of my 19th birthday, I had lots of fun with Miss Jessica Lee! She's such an awesome cousin and friend! Love to hang out with her weekly when i'm in Vancouver. Shucks that I won't be able to see her during these couple of months till I get back. Anyway, the night before my birthday, she brought me to this Japanese restaurant that serves Yakitori. It was such a great meal late at night. Then at 12am, she ordered me a Kamakazi (or something like that) and a Sake bomb! LOL! Super cool. I enjoyed it a lot too. (and no I wasn't drunk!)

Haha, anyway, when I'm back in Hong Kong, I was super relaxed and I really spent my holiday well. I ate a lot of good food, went to see a lot of my best and good friends, and even learned how to bike! I've always hoped to learn to bike since I went to Canada last year. I mean, everyone there technically knew how to bike already, and I felt so left out not knowing how to. Besides, I really wanted to bike at UBC so I can get to classes a lot faster than just walking! Simon and Bianca both taught me how to bike, took me about 2 hours for me to actually learn. Even though I was a bit wobble-ly at first, but after a couple of times biking, I got the hang of it. And on a side note, I really enjoy going downhill! Haha.

Another great news that has to be announced...I FINALLY SAW YUI! It's been one of the things I've always wanted to do since I started liking her in DEC 2006. In person, she is really pretty and her live is really really good. I even cried when she sang "It's Happy Line" and "Good bye days". Why cry you may ask? Well, I never actually thought I'll ever hear her sing live with these two songs before and coincidentally these two songs were the first two songs I learned on my guitar. So it's been awhile I've actually listened and played or "interacted"(?) with these two songs..so I get a little emotional when listening to it...especially LIVE! Anyway, those two songs were sang during her quick visit in Hong Kong. She visited around May...and I saw her at the Tsing Yee Maritime Mall. Even though I could barely see her, but just listening to her voice was enough. Just a couple days ago (June 26th), YUI held her first overseas tour in Hong Kong! And I was there to be with her...what an honour! It was my first time attending her concert, so I teared up when I heard her sing at the beginning (how weird, tearing up on a fast song?? LOL!) but anyway, this concert is definitely the concert I've most enjoyed in my life, I must say. I've never stood up at a concert this long, not willing to sit down (until YUI told us to), and clapped my hands till they're numb. I was completely into the concert, and I didn't even realized two hours have already passed till there was an Encore break.

Also, earliy in June - June 15 to be specific, I saw David Choi again! 2nd time! That was a nice experience too because it was also my first time listening to David Choi live. Even though it was a proper show, but I get to hug him and get his autograph was satisfying enough. He recognized me from Vancouver and from facebook I assume still. Once he saw me, he automatically gave me a hug with a friendly "hey!" I bought him this tradition Chinese shirt...I hope he likes it! :P

Anyway, it's almost 4am. I should start heading back to bed. I'll see if I'll update soon again. If I do, that means I'm lost and bored. I mean I really won't update unless I'm both lost and bored yea?

Oh wells. Time to wake up from my summer break and start worrying about school again!

    Till then, cya

    Yvonne

So you've also met TL Ka-Fei then? How interesting. I didn't know he had children....but I don't really know much about the HK stars. Just watch a little of their films. I can see your friend going ga-ga over DW. He is kinda cute. ;P
