RESPONDING TO rottendoubt's REBUTTAL BLOG
ISSUE 1
Q - racing shouldn't be consider as art.
:: agree to the statement to the point of quality vs quantity, but for this site, i felt it has grown to be looser BUT i don't see this site is loosing its value. in fact, i felt it becomes friendlier and maybe that's part of the results from having a mix of professional artist with independent artist, famous or not famous.
as for racing is consider an artist or not, i believe AnD agree for request as part of the respect to the individual. also, AnD does screening process and AnD tagline is–An Online Community Helping Artists.
my point of view on this, each individual has his/her own power to make a choice. if you don't think the individual is worth as an artist doesn't mean others should think the same as you do, vice versa.
also, this individual requested to be an artist here is because of knowing the opportunity he/she will have in improving or even just sharing and learning from the professional artists. everyone needs encouragement and support in anything one does, and this site can help with support from not only the artists themselves, but also the users. hence, i see no wrong nor degrading in the quality of this site with having many different artist in any level he/she is.
ISSUE 2
Q - i have a company, so doesn't tht make me an artist?
:: hmm..for this statement, i felt the individual who stated this must have not knowing the process. if one really does look around, and click around enough he/she will understand how these companies are affiliated as partners.
my point of view on this, i personally take up the habit of analyze, read and understand a situation before really putting a point down. it's always good to ask but ask politely. searching for answers is a good habit, but having a good ground of knowledge about the question makes it a better way to communicate.
ISSUE 3
Q - all AnD cares about is celebrities.
:: i found this statement being immature. i don't mean no offense to anyone, but i found this statement is contradicting with ISSUE 1. stating the site just simply add anyone as official artist, now stating the site only cares about celebrities?
hmm...again, i stand strong with the point of view i made in ISSUE 1.
ISSUE 4
Q - AnD is just trying to bring celebrities on, get a lot of users, and sell and make money.
:: this will be adding to ISSUE 3. again, if you hang around this site long enough, i believe the individual will see how this site has really grow into a network site not just among artists and users but also among users themselves.
if to make a clearer comparison, i will strongly recommend everyone check out MySpace. THAT is what i can definitively state a site that is using celebrities to get users, and sell, and make money. nothing wrong with tht at all. i'm just trying to point out the difference of the site 'definition'.
it's very clear to me as of now, AnD is a network site helping in closing the gap of artists, celebrities, or whoever on the site with the user tht are searching for the understanding he/she wants to the opposite individual. i see users here blog more in sharing their experiences, discoveries and events they went to or will go to in exchange for communication or finding the group of people tht appreciate in sharing these things with. tht sounds FUN to me. definitely NOT JUST ABOUT celebrities.
also, AnD is pretty strict about the rules on adding any individual user here as friend vs fan. i don't see tht apply on MySpace. anyone/everyone can add/accept at their own will as friends. a lot of bands and artist and rising artist, independent artist, whatever or whoever, you name it, MySpace has it and even with privacy setting, tht site is still fragile and spamming.
really. go check out MySpace and you can definitively see the difference of which site promotes celebrities and which is not.
again, nothing wrong in any of this action. it's a sense of 'growing' for any business, or anything. you want to improve, you want to rise, you want to be proud of your own creation. look, even Facebook turns so call "FUN" lately. see the banner ads around? see any of those in AnD? i only see the banner at home page tht promote events BY THE ARTIST or supporting any artist
ON THIS SITE. i don't see bringing any outside advertising in to this site so far.
to the point of this, has anyone uses Facebook ever notice the little pointless disgusting ad banner on the bottom left hand corner of the site? go notice. nuff' said.
ISSUE 5
Q - AnD is just making their friends into artists.
:: question. let's say if you make a site, you created something, who are the ppl you will go search for? for me personally, my greatest support group–FRIENDS! also, if one does not have anyone to support what you are doing, will you even start it? oh more more more, will you support your friend if he/she started something??????
i totally see nothing wrong even IF AnD really bring MOSTLY FRIENDS into this circle. it's just plain 'human'. oh guess what, this bring into another interesting point, isn't it more interesting if one or something can bring things to 'live'? like what AnD is representing now, we contribute and resulted something far more than just online community. it can really be a real network site connecting individual to support each other and make it a better, stronger community!
believe me, it happened and it is happening.

try answer these questions, you probably can understand what AnD is trying to be or wanting to be or is about.
as of lately, i find each individual tht participated whole heartedly on this site somehow inspire one another to do something, and made each other feel comfortable in expressing oneself, EVEN the artists tht's so call–celebrity. plainly, this is the greatest reason i'm here!
...man. i nag. :P
so, anyone, girls? wanna go watch The Drummer? been a while since the last time we meet up!! :)
i'll try squeeze time to post something! :)
enjoy the site!
let's make it bigger and stronger! hahahah!!!
